It’s located in a dense jungle area off the normal road but it’s magical once you get there. Hearing the waves crashing all day long along with the birds chirping is so soothing and serene. You literally feel like you’re in a rainforest. The breakfast was good as well, they offer few set menu options which you can choose from.

Guests can relax in the tropical garden or by the outdoor swimming pool. Good Karma Restaurant, which is located on the beach, serves both Sri Lankan and international dishes. A selection of seafood is also offered. Very good hotel and fantastic ,good foods, best manager , 100% recommendations

Spent 5 relaxing days here and would definitely come back

The accommodation offers a spa centre. Guests at Sleeping Elephant Beach Resort will be able to enjoy activities in and around Tangalle, like cycling. It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

Our room was clean, but the best part was the view from the bed , straight onto the sea The owner is very careful and welcoming, prepared breakfast early, as we liked, also gave us advice and helped us organising safari tour in Yala Scooter rental on point too

Set in Tangalle, 600 metres from Tangalle Beach, Ashansa Lagoon Resort offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. Among the various facilities are a terrace, a restaurant, as well as a bar. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. Very quiet place compared to other parts of the island. Large room, great terrace, friendly staff, good breakfast! The hotel has a large green area, 5 minutes walk to the beach. We were very tired and did not go to see the turtles, but next to the hotel there is a center where organized tours start every day at 20:30.

The location is beautiful, an oasis surrounded by jungle and right on the lagoon. Very clean, well maintained and with all the commodities you might need during your stay. The whole staff is incredibly friendly, attentive but never intrusive. We would come back to SriLanka even just to stay here, we absolutely loved it.

Family goes out of the way to ensure your comfort, safety and enjoyment. Overall, it was a great value for the money and best experience I ever had on a beach resort.
