I travelled to Ella with my wife for holiday. We found Grand Rock View to be a small, tranquil place with a great character. Our room with balcony offered us the views of the whole valley where the city of Ella is located, including the Ella Rock and the waterfalls. It was a pleasure to just sit there and watch the world go by in the evenings. The place was quiet, as it is located away from any main roads. However, the centre of Ella can be reached from there by a 5-minute walk on the nearby railway tracks (which is how people normally get around there). The host was great, helped us to orient ourselves for our hikes to the nearby hills and was bent to fulfil any of our wishes. He also recommended to us several interesting dining options in Ella. The breakfast at the resort was very good and enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay at Rock Grand View very much.

The views from our room were breathtaking. Having coffee in the morning looking at Little Adam’s peak was perfect. They had the best shower of our entire Sri Lankan holiday. The pool club was a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Shirley did an amazing job making sure we felt at home and very well taken care of-thank you!! Your hospitality is truly appreciated. We enjoyed our stay - location is away from the town center but a very comfortable walk to town, about 20-30 minutes walk to the nine arches bridge, and it offers beautiful scenery. Breakfast, including early take-away one, was really delicious.

The room was immaculately clean, and the location, though slightly outside the busy Ella town, was perfect for us – a tranquil jungle retreat just a 10-15 minute tuk-tuk ride away. We loved being surrounded by nature. The option for homemade meals was a huge plus, and the breakfast we had was exceptional. The value for money is outstanding, especially compared to other accommodations in the area. If you want a clean, quiet, and affordable stay, this is the place

The bed sheets were super clean and comfortable. The room was really good considering the humidity around. The room and bathroom were very clean. The owner was super nice and friendly. He welcomed us with some tea and biscuits. He sent us places to visit without the intention of selling anything. The place is 15 minutes walking or you can get there by Tuk Tuk (around 400) or the owner can pick you up. He actually drove us to the next destination and we met with him in the city and he brought our backpacks. We felt safe, comfortable and the place is really quiet and calm. The views are spectacular. If you are looking for being close to Ella but at the same time some peace this is the place.
