The room was very well furnished and nicely decorated, true cottage-core experiencr. The breakfast was already prepared in our room and fridge, so in the morning we could have it whenever we wanted. For the evening we ordered (at least day ahead) the wine tasting and the Le Grá Tasting platter, which was amazing, both wine and food, and we enjoyed that while watching beautiful sunset from the terrace of our accomodation. Definitely the best accomodation from the 8 have stayed in. Wines and preserved are also available for buying. The owners are chatty and happy to share information about wine-making if interested.

Lovely country location yet close to town and beautiful surroundings (loved the roses). Tasteful decor, very clean and bed was very comfortable. Yummy breakfast provisions hit the spot. Dog was friendly. Spa was just right after a week at work and a wee drive.

Wharekauhau Country Estate offers 5-star accommodation with a hot tub. Guests can enjoy playing billiards and table tennis, or take advantage of the business centre. We felt absolutely spoiled. We were welcomed with open arms. The staff were outstanding, informatve and very friendly. Although the dinner menu was very limited the quality was 5 star. Accommodation was absolutely immaculate and so comfortable. Will definitely be back even though it was a bit pricey.

Our suite was overlooking the main building and the swimming pool, 1 minute walk on a wooden pathway, in the native forest, a hot spa , which considering the temperatures for the season, was welcomed, although it could have been a couple of degrees less so we would have enjoyed it longer. The hosts are so kind and friendly, they invited us to their family Christmas Lunch, which was a delicious meal next to the pool, friendly encounters and discussions, an authentic immersive moment of friendship.
