Located on the outsikrt the city in the scenic area, you wake up with a spectacular mountain view. Quiet. No busy trafic noise, excellent sleep. The inside is decorated with ancient China furniture et decor with a traditional touch. The personnel is nice, accommodating and very friendly. Family owned. Drivers available to take you around or for tours if requested. Most pleasing expérience. Highly recommend.

Not only was the place itself great - comfortable beds, spacious, heated showers, close to the centre - the owner was incredible. David helped us with anything we needed (which was a lot since our transition to china was a bit rocky). He helped us with our Alipay and WeChat, to get a SIM card (and also called the providers and fixed everything when they tried to scam us), exchanged money, booked tours, gave us recommendations, called other accommodations for us, and so so much more. The little restaurant they own under the inn was also some of the best food we’d had during our entire trip (the cucumber salad, dumplings, and fried pork are to DIE FOR 😩). He also gave us some little treats for our anniversary and goodbye gifts :) 10/10 would absolutely recommend this place and we can’t wait to visit again!!

The hotel vibes are relaxing and comfortable, the view of my room is beautiful! The facilities are clean and well-maintained and I had an enjoyable night here. Its location is near the city center so it is very convenient to travel to different tourist attractions in Guilin. The owner of this hotel is very kind and she takes care of my needs. Her garden is gorgeous and I like it so much, strongly recommend you guys to visit it if you will come to this hotel. I will choose Camphor Country House again when I visit Guilin next time, and I will book few more days :)

I had an amazing stay at Guilin Cyan Box Guest Hostel! Joe, Ellen, Bob, and the rest of the staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond—helping me plan my itinerary, organizing group dinners, and even inviting everyone out to the local bar. The social atmosphere made it super easy to meet other travelers and create genuine connections. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this place feels like home. Without a doubt, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommended!

    The staff was pretty nice and had a great service. They helped us with booking the taxis and activities. The location of the inn was not really close to the city center but the food near the inn was great.

    Excellent customer service and coffee is the best around town! Great convenient location to Elephant trunk hill, walkable distance to the touristy city center where the walking street is. Lotsa eataries around the hotel n convenient store is just across the street.

    location along the main road though some walking distance from the city centre. felt safe. helpful (especially main host Luca who speaks English) in booking tourist attractions eg river cruise and the cave. room is spacious and clean, bed is comfy, aircon is fantastic. great coffee.
