Booked here for the novelty of staying in a container, but it was superb! Comfortable, quiet room with an excellent shower. Very friendly lady on reception. You get a voucher for a meal that you can microwave in your room, a really nice touch.

Hotel Satsukien is set in Kanoya, 27 km from Ogawa-no-Taki Waterfall and 33 km from Daguri Cape Amusement Park.

We were on our way from Miyazaki to Ibusuki via the car ferry after checking out some nice waterfalls in between and the Nichinan coast. I was surprised to find such a big grand hotel in a out of the way rural area. Although there is no onsen, the town does have onsen options you could visit and we were happy with the room/breakfast for the price we paid. There are also dinner option within the hotel which was great as it was raining hard on the evening we had dinner here. I'd stay again if I needed a hotel in this area again.

The staff and management were very warm and accommodating. The location was exceptional. The family onsen was a delightful surprise. The view of Kinko bay is unmatched. And we saw the plume from our room!
