Marco is a great host, kind to everyone, open for chats (which we love) and very attentive. We stayed 5 nights and the breakfast was perfect, every single day. He makes good coffee, there were different cheeses to choose from every day, and fresh fruit, among others. We were also very happy with the beds, after almost a week in Interlaken with super soft beds, we were happy with these nice, sturdy matrasses. Marco also organizes dinners. We were able to enjoy one of them and we were very satisfied. We will come again, when we're back in Ticino! With the Ticino ticket that you get upon arrival, you can use all means of public transport in Ticino free of charge. That's a huge bonus. Bellinzona is only 20 minutes by bus and from there you can take great walks, either high up in the mountains (using a cable car to get there), or lower, there's ample choice.

The breakfast is perfect for fueling before a ride and the staff quickly tops off any drinks or items running low. Dinner service is also great with a handful of all delicious options. Conveniently, the funicular is also nearby so you can start your hike with a view of the valley.

Completely renovated in 2017, the modern Hotel Bellinzona Sud is located in Monte Carasso, right off the A2 highway. Free parking and a charging station for electric cars are located right outside the hotel. The property is very cozy and nice for a one night stay.
