Where to begin...the bar tenders in the attached bar were friendly and helpfully turned us on to the homemade pizza for dinner; the room was small but perfect; breakfast oh boy! The spread of food was astonishing, from the delicious pastries, bread and toasts to the splendid meats, cheeses, herrings, fresh fruits, cereals - the choices kept us coming back for refills. This hotel surpassed all imagination!

Egilsstaðir Airport is 35 km away. Great stay at hotel Austur. Room was good and linen soft. Breakfast is continental and did surely overcome our expectation. Would have loved to stay another night. High recommendation.
