There is a lift, free car park, it's very clean and the staff is super friendly. Castel del Monte is a tiny historical town, a perfect location to explore Campo Imperatore and surroundings. I definitely recommend it!

Located in Barisciano in the Abruzzo Region, 16 km from L’Aquila, Convento di San Colombo is set in its garden and it features a children's playground and views of the mountain. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant, as well as a meeting room. Peaceful oasis on the hills! Everyone in the Convento was so helpful and kind. The view is exceptional, overlooking the old gardens and down into the valley. Breakfast was particularly impressive with a huge range of options including local meats and cheese, all very fresh. I loved that almost nothing was in plastic compared to some of the places we stayed on our trip. I've seen other commenters disappointed in the 'upkeep' of the gardens but I'm happy to see they've turned most of the old gardens into a rewilding project for a butterfly garden. Much nicer than manicured lawns in my opinion!

I had a room in the 3rd floor, which must have been renovated recently. I got a key card while others had clunky keys, so maybe they had different experiences. The room was really big and clean. The bed was comfy, pillow not as much, but I'm picky. The people working there are really friendly and speak English well (in the supermarket the clerks didn't know any English). Breakfast is good, the coffee really tasty. I was even able to check in early without informing them in advance! Really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.

You can play billiards at this 3-star hotel, and the area is popular for skiing and cycling. The hotel was quite nice. It's away from the nite noise of the main part of town but just a short walk. The restaurant was great, though we only got pizza and calzone but every table had something I wanted. That said, the pizza was amazing. You asked about the bed above. I have a bad back so it's hard to tell, but it didn't hurt so that is a plus. I liked the height, seemed a bit lower than average and I kinda liked that.
