Private parking is available on site. Everything about this hotel from start to finish was wonderful. I arrived right at 3pm for check-in. The staff was welcoming. I put my shoes in the shoe locker and walked on tatami mats throughout the hotel in the Japanese socks they provided. My room was absolutely spotless, well-equipped with standard Japanese hotel room items and included a towel rack which was helpful after going to the onsens and it also had a great view. I put on my loungewear and headed to the onsens. Both group and 7 private onsens were varied with open-air and white water and different sizes. A few massage chairs were also available and free snacks were provided throughout the day. The location of this hotel is perfect. It's a two-minute walk from Beppu train station. There were plenty of cute restaurants, shops, bars, convenience stores and even a movie theatre in the immediate area. My bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The next morning was an incredible breakfast buffet. There was an unbelievable variety it was delicious. The hotel appears to be new. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here if you are coming to Beppu. Location, cleanliness, delicious food, lovely onsens, and comfortable bed. Everything was fabulous. I would gladly stay there again.

With a spa and wellness centre, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The property is non-smoking and is set 1.7 km from Kinrinko Lake. The location was perfect for me, 10 minutes walking from the train / bus station and on top of a light hill, so the view from our room was incredibly nice. (This also means that if you are going on foot you have to walk uphill, no big deal for us, but if you have heavy luggage it could be difficult). Both dinner and breakfast were japanese-style, but not too traditional on both taste and texture (I say this as a plus, because my partner is not keen on super traditional Japanese cooking and still managed to eat most of his breakfast). We were also offered non-meat options beforehand, which is great! The building is a mixture of western and japanese styles, so for example the common room has high tables and chairs and a parquet, while the rooms have tatami. Everything was lovely, the common area had a beautiful terrace with a view, our room had a small balcony with outside seats and a private onsen bathtub. The owner is a very nice man and we chatted during dinner. We speak good enough Japanese, so language wasn't a problem, but the owner also speaks good enough English and is very helpful. We had free access to coffee, tea and water from the common room and two complimentary water bottles in the room.

Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 46 km from Crasus Dome Oita. Norman Rockwell Yufuin Museum is 1.1 km from the ryokan. Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

The food was the best food we have ever eaten and the staff and service were superb! I can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you’re in Japan and want a truly authentic experience stay here.

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath. Private parking is available for an additional fee. It was beautiful, had a great overlook of the city. Nice, relaxing onsen in our own private bathroom, perfect few days to relax after 2 weeks of running around Japan.
