The property is allergy-free and is set 5.8 km from Sannai-Maruyama site. I came to Tohoku for a tour of the ski resorts with my brother. We met up in Aomori and stayed at the ReLabo before heading off to Aomori Spring. We were made very welcome. The hotel is remarkably convenient and clean. The staff are super friendly. Special thanks to our concierge Alicia, who found a solution to all our problems, even those we had created (for example, warning us that we had forgotten a telephone in a restaurant in town).

The owner of the accommodation was very nice and could communicate with guests through translation software. In addition, the owner’s cooking skills were very good. We enjoyed rich and delicious breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended this accommodation to everyone.

Kuroishi
Situated in Kuroishi in the Aomori region, Tabinoyado Saikawa features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to spa facilities. This 3-star ryokan offers a housekeeping service and private check-in and check-out. Tsuta Hot Spring is 36 km away and Hirosaki Castle is 22 km from the ryokan. This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!
Zao Onsen
Set in Zao Onsen in the Yamagata region, with Zao Onsen Ski Resort nearby, Takasagoya Ryokan features accommodation with access to a public bath. This 3-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The room size, staff service and food was spectacular. It was as competitive as the service I experienced in Kamikochi.
Ashinomaki Onsen, Aizuwakamatsu
Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Okawaso offers accommodation in Aizuwakamatsu, 13 km from Aizu Higashiyama Onsen.
Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. The rooms include a private bathroom. For your comfort, you will find slippers and a hairdryer.
It’s a beautiful hotel nestled into the hillside by the river. The reception area is amazing, especially with the Shamisen lady is playing. The traditional rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable.
Senboku
7.6 km from Nyuto Hot Spring in Senboku, Aoni Sanso features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The ryokan has family rooms. The room was very comfy, as shown in the photographs. The dinner and breakfast were excellent - some of the best food we had in Japan. The private onsen was great, beautiful outlook onto the snow, water not too hot. Staff very friendly and accommodating to our very poor Japanese - google translate worked well for us all!
Zao Onsen
Featuring a garden and a bar, Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte is located in Zao Onsen. The 3-star guest house features mountain views and is 600 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. The guest house has family rooms. Great location on mountain, food was really good, breakfast was different every day. Had dinner there as well it was nice. Rooms are small but expected.
Aizuwakamatsu
Tagoto features a hot public bath, Japanese-style and Western rooms and Japanese cuisine, a 5-minute drive from Aizu Wakamatsu Station. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the propert and free parking is on-site. It’s perfect, simply perfect. The atmosphere is impeccable, the food is amazing, the staff is great. I would go to Aizuwakamatsu by the very troubled winter transport again to stay in this hotel.
Zao Onsen
Set 500 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Pension Puutaro offers 3-star accommodation in Zao Onsen and features a garden. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, luggage storage space and bicycle parking, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming, the room was very comfortable, and the location was also quite good! It was a truly wonderful experience!

The location was great, with an easy access to Sendai train station and the city centre. The staff was friendly, and everything we could have needed was provided (towels, water bottles, vending machine,...)
Great location. Friendly staff Reasonable buffet breakfast for 3 star hotel.
The location is great, just a minute to the station, to the river and a few more minutes into the city center.
The best part of staying in this budget hotel is the exceptional breakfast buffet with a great variety of Japanese homemade dishes. It’s within a 10-min walk from the JR station. The public bath is open until late night.
The bath size was decent for a budget hotel. Staff were very friendly too.
When arriving, the lobby felt so grand and luxurious with seating in the front! The check in process was through a machine but the staff were friendly and available for help when needed. The disposable amenities available were also easy to access and had a great range. The room was also a nice and tidy and the bathroom was the same too. I liked that laundry machines were easily accessible. The location compared to the city centre (especially Sendai Station) was extremely convenient.
Good location, in city center.
Breakfast is excellent: Japanese and ample quantities. Small selection of western food available. Dinners are sensational; a rotation between Sukiyaki, Bbq and Shabu Shabu. All delicious in their own way. Accomodation is 3 star and comfortable enough. There are private and public onsens - the public ones are, perhaps, slightly small. Location to Appi Kogen is perfect - a two minute drive at most, even in foul weather. The tariffs are very reasonable, in stark contrast to 1.3km up the hill, on snow.
Friendly staff, convenient location, clean rooms, and good price. I appreciate that the staff offered to hold on to our bags after check-out. That was very nice and it allowed me to enjoy my Sendai trip without carrying a heavy backpack around all day.
Location of the hotel is about 10 min walk. It is located in the city center. There is a coin laundry machine in the hotel. There was no drinking water supplied to us. However the water from tap is drinkable.
