This is an excellent property, minutes away from the town center but what sets it apart is the attention to detail and great service We stayed in the cabana, a two-storied cottage next to the main building. It’s a lovely place with a sitting area on the ground level and the bedroom upstairs. The photos of the interior on the website show a luxurious, well-fitted space and the place lives up to this in every way. We were here in end November and the Christmas Tree was up adding a festive touch Food is good and plentiful (Tip: Opt for the Sri Lankan curry and rice) and service is outstanding. Also, the best breakfast we’ve had in Sri Lanka.

Surrounded by tea plantations and other small cultivations, and inside the grounds is a perfectly tended garden and very professional welcome from the small team. Short walks available to a viewpoint amongst the tea. Room and bathroom both spacious and as in the photos. Dinner and breakfast both delicious. The banana bread in particular! No problem to order us a taxi to go to the station the next morning too. More expensive than the average accommodation, but certainly value for money compared to other similar high-end “boutique” accommodations in Sri Lanka (which can start at $900 per night - and I’m not sure the extra butler would be worth the difference!)

The property has garden and city views, and is 5.9 km from Gregory Lake. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable. we came for a couple of days, but we liked it so much that we decided to extend our stay. There is also a very polite and decent hotel caretaker who has repeatedly helped us with various issues.

Really nice small stay with a kind host family. Really clean room and great bathroom with plenty of hot water. After a rainy day we enjoyed a warm shower. Rooms at the Langdale Boutique Hotel by Amaya recall the Tea Estate era, with dark wooden flooring and classic furniture. They are fitted with satellite TV, a sofa and a tea maker. Langdale is a wonderful small Boutique Style Hotel with old world charme. The staff is very attentive and charming. The location is close to the train station Nanu Oya in the middle of tea plantations with stunning views and scenery. Loved our early morning walk through the teaplantation, the temperatures here are very pleasant and we felt like some exercise after some long travel days. We only spend on night to brake the train ride from Ella to Kandy which we thought was perfect. We could have easily stayed a little longer and just enjoyed this peaceful place. Beds were very comfortable and the whole hotel is spotless and perfectly maintained. We had dinner in the hotel, I personally preferred the local choices on the menu to the western style.
