The resort is very close to village center and to jetty to reach Taman Negara National park. It is a very quiet area. Breakfast and other services are pretty good.
The location on the edge of the village was good - it was quiet (except for the cicadas and wildlife). The breakfast and dining area was pleasant with a decking area overlooking the river. The room was good and clean, and the wet room functional. The staff were very helpful and polite and provided a good service. We enjoyed petting the little ginger cat at breakfast which was adorable. I think it's one of, if not the best guest house in Taman Negara.
- Very friendly and helpful Staff - Breakfast was very good especially for the price - Big room with all the necessities !Don't expect a luxurious hotel you are staying almost in the jungle after all!
A sample of true hospitality - the Balai Serama is such a unique and beautiful place, so pleased we were able to stay and enjoy the surrounding area, pretty gardens, and the generous meals on offer at breakfast and dinner. The owners Ijad & Marja are so welcoming and helpful - offering local pickups and suggestions on what to do. Their ‘ tailor made’ full day tour to Kuala Sat was such a fun and informative day, the highlight was trekking through the Orang Asli village and tubing down the river.
The owners are really friendly and kind, the rooms are nice and clean, the bathrooms as well, there’s air con and a window, a nice terrace with a roof, chairs and a table, a place where you can hang your clothes for drying, refill station for water (cold and hot), there’s tea and snacks on the porch, the location is in the center of the small village and close to the river. I hurt my foot on a jungle tour and the owner was so kind and went to the restaurant nearby and came back with a pack of ice to cool my ankle. Liked it here very much!!!
Clean, comfy room with everything you need. Water refill station. Spacious bathroom. Everything very clean. The family is very nice. Everything close by, but the village isn't big anyway ;)
Straightforward unmanned property. Check in and out was as straightforward as it gets. Good location very close to the bus station and walking distance from the village. Hotel next door has a decent and cheap 15myr breakfast buffet available. Clean, water provided and some place to dry your clothes.
The location was ideal, in the main street of the little village, just a few minutes walk to the floating restaurants, river crossing, tour companies, and the bus stop. The room was clean and the mattress was soft but comfortable. The air conditioning was excellent.
Location at the river Basic but clean rooms with airco Good food Excellent help from the owners for transport and tours Balai Serama is the only guesthouse who also offers a non touristic tour 45 km further down in the jungle which contains a hike with a guide- boattrip-visit to the village with the oriasti people and to top it off tubing in the river. It’s a really nice day trip. If you have limited time skip the canopy and take this day trip instead which is more authentic.
