The location is super convenient to the monastery, hiking, and all the shops and restaurants you could want. The owner helped us arrange our transportation from our previous town to the hotel, a day trip to the grasslands (they can even pack you a lunch!), and our transfer back to Lanzhou afterwards. He also had a ton of recommendations on what and how to do at the monastery and in town. Our favorite part, though, was that he took his dog (whom my daughter LOVED!) for early morning walks/hikes in the hills around town and invited us to come along, which meant we got to discover some hikes we wouldn't have known about otherwise. He also recommended another half-dozen hikes for us afterwards.
