Day Dream Soleyjargata Rooms & Apartments is an apartment featuring rooms with free Wifi and air conditioning in the center of Reykjavík. The hotel is very cosy and is located 3 minutes walk from the central bus station. It's very convenient if you're planning to travel somewhere with bus excursions as some of them depart from there. Also, the buses from and to the airport arrive and depart there. It’s also around 10 minutes’ walk to the downtown. Additionally, it’s around 15 minutes’ walk to the hotel from which other excursions start from. So, the location is exceptional. It’s very quiet around. The kitchen had all we needed to cook and make tea. It’s very warm in the house and room. The batteries are getting extra hot if you put on a high level. So, it’s possible to sleep with open window to get fresh air and still not get cold. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. It was very easy to take the keys from the lock box. The instructions were very clear and we didn’t have any problems with this. The house has 2 toilets, so even though all rooms were occupied we were never standing in any queues to the toilet. Some extra towels are provided in the bathroom just in case as well as some hygiene stuff for free. The room was big and spacious. The fact that it’s a ground floor doesn’t matter as the room is still very bright. Also because of having the window on the “top” of the room it was possible to see the birds jumping on the grass just in on the eyes level. Quite interesting experience. I would recommend this apartment a lot as it’s great deal for this price.

Providing a garden, An elegant studio apartment in Reykjavik - Great Location offers accommodations in Reykjavík. With garden views, this accommodation features a terrace. We loved everything about this apartment. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the views across the bay and walks along the shore are fantastic. We loved being just a little bit out of the centre of town, tho still a walkable distance, and the bus into the centre is really quick and easy too.

This budget hotel is 328 feet from Reykjavik's BSI Bus Terminal, the arrival/departure point for Keflavík International Airport buses. It offers free WiFi and parking. The hotel is simple but very quiet, comfortable and clean. The location is perfect close to the city center and very close to the bus station. The self check-in was very convenient and worked perfectly. The staff is very helpful. We met Jan at the hotel and he was super responsive and helpful, we were traveling with children and we had some special requests, all of them were answered positively with a smile.

Only a small city and easy to get round in a day. Excursions outside of the city that involve coach transport are, like everything else in Reykjavik, eye-wateringly expensive. The norm seems to be to hire a car which provides a signififcant cost saving. That's probably fine in the Summer but in February, when it's snowing heavily most of the time that isn't an attractive proposition. Make use of Happy Hour which runs from about 5pm to around 8pm. Beer prices are around half price then. Although that's still about £6.00 a pint. It is expensive but you know that before you go so there's no point moaning. 3 days was good, 4 would have been better. Choose a hotel as close to the centre as you can and one which is close to a collection/drop off point for coach transport if you don't fancy hiring a car. The buses have designated pick up points and if your accomodation isn't near one it can be a long walk. Use public transport for airport transfers (both ways) taxis are about £140.00 each way. The buses are approx £40.00. It's a brilliant and beautiful city, with friendly helpful locals. You might even see the Northern Lights. We didn't, due to the blizzards, but I'm assured they are there.
Fantastic location, located closely to so many fantastic restaurants, grocery stores and everything you need to enjoy your stay.... very easy to drive into Reykjavik or head out onto the Ring Road elsewhere.
Just Excellent, an amazing place, surrounded by nature, lovely nearby horses and a lot of intimacy, I highly recommend it! Beds very comfortable and excellent smart tv! Thanks a lot for such a great place!
Really great vibes, cool and aesthetic cafes with world-class coffee and pastries. Astonishing views of mountains all around the city. For the best 'like-a-local' experience, make sure you visit the public pools - it is brilliant to soak in the warm water after a day of walking around the city!
Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.
This review is very much aimed at parents. We couldn't do a lot of the famous activities due to having a little one but I still 100% recommend Iceland. Reykjavik is an excellent place to visit for a small city break with a two year old. We were cautious but I am so glad we did it! I recommend getting an apartment over a hotel. It is slightly more expensive but well worth the investment. Reykjavik is very pushchair friendly and most places allow children to eat for free. Just be careful which restaurants you choose as not all places cater for children. If you are from the UK, budget for around £250 per day. It is expensive! Places to eat: For lunch/dinner - Brass Kitchen and Bar - Laugavegur 66, 101 (children's menu and really friendly) I cannot remember the name but there is an Indian restaurant next door to the Bio Paradis on Hverfisgata 101. It is phenomenal! No children's menu so take snacks if you have a toddler. For breakfast/lunch - Sandholt - Laugavegur 36, 101 (kids eat free) Places to visit: The Blue Lagoon! The hype is real, do it! Lava Show Puffin watching (we got to see a whale also!)
