Only a small place however impressive. Businesses looked healthy and people really friendly.
Pubs looked modern however didn't get a chance to check them out. Impressed with accommodation options in town which was very impressive for a small country town,
.will definitely look to stay here again when come through central qld.

Miles is a beautiful country town with enough retail stores to service the area. It is a tidy town and the people are welcoming. The historical museum is one of the best I have seen and the staff who work there are very friendly and proud of their town.

Visited Historical Museum and was very impressed.
Visited Historical Museum and was very impressed. Unfortunately there was major
roadworks in the centre of town that caused a little distraction to shops ect. Good supermarket
opposite my motel with a HUGH stock and friendly staff. Very impressed with Miles as a good Australian Town experience.

A lovely Western Downs country town with excellent quality...
A lovely Western Downs country town with excellent quality pubs and cafe, plus all the usual town shops and, of course, the Miles Historical Village Museum, which is unparallelled for depiction of pioneer life. It's an excellent experience for tourists and a wonderful resource for family historians seeking insights into the lives of their ancestors in the West.
We were a bit surprised to find everything in the main street closed on Sunday morning, but then the service stations offer food, coffee and convenience items for sale 24/7, so we didn't have to go without breakfast or cappuccinos on Sunday morning. We decided it's actually quite nice to experience a quiet country-town Sunday - such a change from busy Sundays in the City!

Neat and reasonably propserous looking little town.
Neat and reasonably propserous looking little town. It was a convenient ending place for my days travel. I enjoyed the 30 minutes I spent walking along Dogwood Creek Track which begins at Chinaman's Lagoon (about I km from middle of town along the road to Condamine).

Attractive neat little town.
Attractive neat little town. Miles Historical Village and Dogwood Crossing art gallery are excellent and very interesting. The art, by two local artists, was of a very high standard. Lovely tranquil lagoon (Chinaman's Lagoon) close to the town.
The Queensland Hotel has very good food.
Location was perfect for us, being walking distance to the pubs in the main street for two dinners out and also close to the service station that served us a hot breakfast on Sunday morning (Nothing else in town was open!) It was also just a short walk to the Western Downs Regional Council building that we wanted to visit on Monday and the Miles Historical Village Museum that we wanted to visit on Tuesday - all very convenient.
The Owner made us feel welcome on arrival. Alex advised us about local places for our evening meal and the well-known Miles Historical Village. The Starline Motel is the only Motel that we have stayed in that has a sink in the unit - unique. All the new appliances and the bed (very comfortable) were installed as part of a complete refurbishment in recent times.
Good location, central to restaurants, pubs and cafes. Despite the property being dated, it was very clean and in good repair. Upon my arrival the gentleman at the counter informed me that my room was ready and that he had turned the heat on (greatly appreciated as it was a chilly evening).
The staff were very welcoming what you'd expect in country Australia. Clean and quiet place to rest and was grateful for the air-conditioning as it was hot. Great halfway place to stay to the country race tracks.
The decor of the hotel has charm.
Don’t usually give a score of 10 for a motel but couldn’t fault the Golden West in Miles it exceeded expectations. The lady at check in was really friendly and helpful, the room spotless, location great all in all great place for overnight stop.
Room very comfortable and large, appears newly renovated. 8 minute walk to main street. Quiet as off main street. Manager suggested Windsor Hotel for dinner - delicious. A pretty town, very clean, nice landscaping.
Best motel in Miles by miles. Stayed in other places in town before finding this place now wouldnt stay anywhere else. It’s modern clean comfortable bed nice bathroom easy walk to pubs plenty of parking
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Modern spotlessly clean room, great shower and comfy bed. Also shout out to Aussie hotel who delivered a decent meal to room….so convenient after a long drive.
A fresh new property, two luggage racks (two thumbs up), a superb dinner delivered by room service that was truly good value, spacious, clean and functional with under cover parking.
This is the best motel that I have stayed in. It is new, well planned, perfectly maintained and very close to the centre of town.
Visit Miles so that you can stay here.
Excellent dinner delivered for free from the Australia Hotel. Had a great private balcony overlooking the lagoon with lots of birds and a lovely sunset.
