The standard continental breakfast was ok, but the ordered breakfast was pretty good. Was made to order pretty quickly so that was appreciated.

We drove up to the cottage & was met by a huge kangaroo eating the grass. It was a site to see since we don't see them in the US. I spoke with the owner & he gave me the code to the door & assured me the kangaroo won't bother us & it didn't. Just quite a bit of kangaroo poop to walk around. We saw that breakfast was included & he explained that the food was in the fridge & we had to cook it ourselves. It was a wonderful breakfast!! eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, tea. We've never stayed in a cottage like this & it was an awesome experience! We did the lighthouse tour earlier that day & were the only ones & the guide spent so much time with us, we had our own 3 hour private tour of the lighthouse. You definately must do the tour! We were on a coastal road trip & decided to stay at the cottages since it was getting late & we didn't have any lodging lined up ahead of time. I'm so glad we stayed! The fireplace & the heaters kept us warm & it provided all the amenities we needed. The owner called & checked on us about an hour later to make sure we got in & all was well.
I would highly recommend the cottage! As a Travel Advisor, I will be recommending it to my clients should they be in the area.

Excellent housekeeping, super friendly staff on reception and a lovely quiet location to clean up and recharge after hiking the Great South West Walk.
The cabins in the park are of a high standard, everything works and is functional, no props or duct tape used.

My comfortable overnight stay to break the inland journey from Adelaide to Melbourne was an excellent choice. It was not long enough to see much more than the gorgeous Bay, averting eyes away from the port constructions at one side. I enjoyed an excellent seafood meal at the nearby beachfront restaurant.

Seascape was a beautiful place to stay.
Seascape was a beautiful place to stay. Very clean, modern and an easy walk to the shoreline and town.
We walked to town and picked up some roasted chicken & the fixings and ate back at the apartment. Fully equipped kitchen!
Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night, so can't recommend things to do in Portland, although it is a quaint little town.

Portland has so much to offer both in close vicinity and just a short drive away. From the interesting activities at the Port to the many walks around town, safe swimming at Nuns Beach and some very cute shops and cafes.
A short drive to Bridgewater and you will find the most gorgeous beach that gives QLD beaches some strong competition. A few more min up from Bridgewater and there are spectacular view of Blowholes and the ocean at its fiercest.
The historic lighthouse at Cape Nelson is a short drive from the other end of Portland.

Pretty country Victoria town on the sea.
Pretty country Victoria town on the sea. The beach is right in town, else you can drive 15mins to Bridgewater where there's a Cafe right beside the beach with extensive menu & lots indoor or outdoor seating. The Royal hotel in Portland city also offers an extensive menu, very reasonably priced with friendly service and multiple eating / drinking areas, plenty parking or 1 block walk from William Dutton hotel. Portland has Aldi, IGA & Woolworths supermarkets

We visited the park near the port, had a short walk along the beach. The area is clean and safe. We enjoyed the view. We also visited the botanical garden. It is great. Small garden, but lots of beautiful flowers. the city has got several very good places for lunch or dinner. We visited one and had a great lunch. I liked the view form the cliff to the port. It is unique, but it is hard to find the stairs to the beach from the cliff as it is hidden. February is a good time to visit: not too hot, and not cold, perfect.
Very nice house! It is the best among our stays ever. Unlike ordinary holiday park or self-contained cabin, we enjoyed as a home. Very well equipped kitchen, own cooking is highly preferrable. Everything is clean and tidy. The garden is so beautiful with so many succulent plants. Location is good with just a 10 minutes drive from Portland town, very close to Cape Nelson Lightstation. It is great to explore nearby capes attractions.
Staying at this hotel was an absolute breeze from start to finish! With easy entry and ample parking, the hassle of finding a spot was completely eliminated. Portland Retro motel offered a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. It's great for travellers seeking convenience and value. Highly recommended for a fuss-free and budget-friendly experience!
Victoria house is walking distance to the cafes , supermarkets and attractions. The room was impeccably clean and the bed super comfy. The house is steep in history and Mandy my host was incredibly accommodating. I enjoyed all the little attentions like the bath salts and the sherry and fruit cake served in the parlour of an evening. Highly recommended!
great quiet location, beautiful home and back garden area. lots of cozy places to relax other than our room. mandy and john were perfect hosts, ready to make sure we got the most out of our time in the Portland area. could easily walk to many areas of interest nearby, as well as dining and shopping. The home was very clean.
Loved everything from stepping in to the house, the views, the cleanliness, the organization of things, TimTam and the walk around the house. The host really knows how to provide excellent service.
Everything was up to the mark, defs returning here.. My family loved it here as they felt at home
The property was very clean & comfortable. Great location on the esplanade overlooking the sea. Fully self contained with it's own kitchen.
We were just passing through Portland looking for an overnight stay & happy to find this gem. We would certainly stay here again.
Although we didn't have breakfast, our hosts made our stay a pleasure and most comfortable. A nice quiet location and very convenient to shops and services. Will definitely be thinking about returning in the near future.
it was bit difficult to collect keys and find cottage since i have arrived night and it was dark its bit an adventure going back to portland hotel and collect keys. my suggestion to arrive before sunset
Absolutely beautiful old world house, situated close to the main street. The host Roger was extremely friendly and very helpful. If we're ever back in Portland will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful room, so comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Food was amazing, we enjoyed every meal.
Location was good , very close to shops.
Highly recommend this hotel
Large rooms with antique furnishings, homely environment. Roger is a wonderful host. The house is in town and walkable to restaurants and pub with quiet and shady gardens.
The location was better than expected. Close to the beach and all amenities that Portland had to offer. Cable car/tram travelled right past the front gate.
