Beach and surf town with a very relaxed atmosphere.
Beach and surf town with a very relaxed atmosphere. There are many restaurants, but the very best food is outside the city in a place called Cafe com Cacau. The food and the people there are worth a trip to Itacare. For tours, you have only two options, in my opinion - Dona (Sra.) Cida, a 74 years old lady who will show you the beauties of Itacare beaches and forests. And Leo, he is a master tour guide who is born and raised in Itacare, he knows every place and everyone in town.

I love the fact the it can be a mess in the city center and when you come back to lah selva after a tiring day, you will always come back to a peaceful environnement graced by the sound of the waves. Not to mention that everything was on spot, clean, tidy and Larissa who manages the places is an absolut gem of a person and will attend all your needs with a big smile. After two amazing weeks there, lah selva is definetly my hostel of choice when i come back to Itacaré.mastrojeniItaly

Close to the center (15mn by walk) it offers a beautiful view on the river and the bungalows are very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the pool adds a little plus if you want to relax after the beach. We were welcome by Natalia who made our stay very pleasant. She gave us all the information needed about the area and was very kind to us. She also helped us organize a tour in the mangrove (which is a thing to do!) The hotel gives you all that is necessary and you don’t even feel like going out there. The food is amazing but what really makes the difference here is the staff, everyone working to make you time great! specifically with Breno during the dinner, great drinks from Rodrigo and Felipe , and the excellence in service, right in the morning with the happy girls and explanations from Sil. I am definitely coming back.

A tiny breakfast area for loads of room with 4 bunk bed in each room. I had no seat for myself. I use the wall to put my plates on. Location is a nightmare in the heart of a fashion mall. It's not Bahia, it's not even Brazil. It's a fake district that is so fake as a cinematographyc place. Fleed away from Itacaré. Go to Barra Grande taking a boat from CAMAMU. There is a small communal kitchen with the essentials. There are washing lines for drying clothes and a sink for the laundry. The pousada is in the centre, so the rooms facing the street are a bit noisy, but this seems to be the case with most accommodation in Itacaré. Advantage: everything is close by. I recommend this pousada.
