The pub/restaurant was fabulous ....the food was awesome and service was great. All were very welcoming.
The resort was having a dinner/dance which required tickets and they were sold out so I sent a email asking if we could go on a cancellation list. They followed up and we were able to attend the wonderful event. Now that is caring efficient service. Thank you Thank you.

Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes.
Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes. It is very scenic with lovely tourist shops and cafes. The scenery is amazing and the salt water lake offers recreational opportunities. Don't miss the nightly ceilidh, and especially on Thursday evenings. There are lots of great places to eat or drink local beverages.

A very pretty town in itself and the perfect jumping off for the famed Cabot Trail. There are some nice restaurants including the Freight Shed which sits right on the dock which has Muskoka chairs where one can sit and take in the view of the lighthouse.

We spent a lot more time in the Bell's museum because it was above and beyond our expectation.
The museum guided tours are a must-do!
It runs only twice a day (morning and afternoon, but different tour subjects), so make sure to make it.
Our guid was just fantastic!.
We wish our kids were with us for this.
All in all we spent half a day at the museum.

Small town with many restaurants, boutiques, cafes as well as basic amenities such as a pharmacy and grocery store. Wonderful walks along the shore of the Bras D’Or lakes as well as the pier and through town. There are also cultural events such as the music concert we attended and a drama group that puts on plays. The Alexander Bell museum is worth a visit as well.

Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit.
Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit. We learned so much about him and his wife and their impact on science and aviation and so much more!! Needs to be taught in school
Good restaurants from Toms Pizza to the Cable Room five star dining.
Has a neat waterfront boardwalk. A private mega yacht The Mary A was there WOW.
this was just on the outskirts of Baddeck proper, and was a little more affordable as a result. we got in late so decided to eat at the on-site restaurant - Cape Breton Fried Chicken. You cant go wrong with the food here - the chicken is brined, so very juicy and moist. Nice crunch and well seasoned. This place also had an onsite laundry facility which many places on the trail do not have and was so great as we needed it being on the road for 5 days prior.
The location and views were fantastic. We were made to feel most welcome by Jeff, and he was full of wonderful information about the area. The rooms were extremely well designed and the bed was so comfortable. We ate breakfast at the Freight Shed, which was amazing. The gallery was a lovely addition and I will definitely be back. Baddeck is the best place to stay in Cape Breton for sure.
Carl was a great host. We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready so he invited to use the kayaks while the room was being cleaned. We had a great paddle around a small island and returned to our ready room. The porch area was cozy with beautiful views over the water. We watched the full moon rise. It was a perfect evening and a great day staying at the Dunlop in Baddeck.
Hunter’s Mountain Chalets is our “go to” when visiting Cape Breton and exploring the Cabot Trail.
We’ve stayed twice and both times we’re very enjoyable.
A great location and starting point for the Cabot Trail. The chalets are clean, quiet and comfortable; pet friendly with beautiful walking trails right on the property, a huge bonus!
We will definitely stay again and again :)
Super comfortable bed, soft but not too soft, slept like a baby. The view of the ocean is beautiful! Sat in the window and watched the waves, very relaxing. Very clean, large room. Vince was helpful in trying to give me ideas on what to do as all of the trails were closed because of the fires in Nova Scotia. Really enjoyed the openness of the room.
Views of the lake, Location is close to Baddeck town. In few minutes one can reach to Baddeck for more food options.
They upgraded us to a better room at no additional cost. Overall it is a very relaxing place.
Breakfast had lot of options. Beautiful dining room overlooking the lake.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Mr. Bhatti.
I liked the location. Was on a hill so had an amazing view of Bras D'Or lake. Went for a nice swim & enjoyed a beer on the dock. Was a 3-5 minute drive to Baddeck. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Dining room was very pleasant with a great view of lake. Breakfast, which is not included in price, was wonderful and service was great.
No issues at all. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were, very clean. Breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. Pleasant, friendly and relaxing stay. I will recommend this place to anyone who is travelling to Baddeck or anyone on their way to the Ferry to NL
Thank you
My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and absolutely loved everything about the Dunlop Inn. The owners were lovely, the rooms were comfortable and the dock was a great spot to sit and have a drink when we arrived. Highly recommend to any couple on a romantic getaway.
The staff went over and above to help us when we had car trouble. The front desk staff contacted the owner/manager who came to the hotel after hours and helped to fix our problem. It made all the difference and allowed us to continue our vacation!
Very well situated in the town of Baddeck, within walking distance of many restaurants and shops as well as along the bay's waterfront. Also, Alexander Graham Bell Museum is very close. The host's family has been here for generations.
Everything was excellent. Ann and Jeff were wonderful hosts with a warm welcome and tips for exploring Cape Breton. Our room was gorgeous, comfortable and impeccably clean. The balcony overlooking the water was the perfect bonus.
The motel is bit far from Baddeck but it is close to Englishtown cable ferry which is very convenient for us. Beautiful view and lots of live creature like snails, mussels and crabs on the river shore of motel back yard.
Great location and lovely staff. Telegraph Houde Motel is on a cute village called Baddeck. There’s so much character in the hotel and rooms, I loved it and really enjoyed my stay. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location in walking distance to almost everything in Baddeck. Also very clean and comfy. The restaurant that is on the hotel premises was highly appreciated with great food and service.
The hotel is in a good location with a great view. Great spot along the beautiful Cabot Trail. Liked that there were laundry facilities. The staff of the hotel was pleasant to deal with.
