Very interesting sitting perched on top of the mountains.
Very interesting sitting perched on top of the mountains. Very gothic city including the Basilica and all the antennas on the top. Quite an unusual vibe in the city. Cooler weather than most cities in the area. Beautiful surroundings.

Manizales is an amazing city - it is very safe, clean and beautiful scenery. It is one of the safest cities I have traveled to in the world, without feeling nervous at anytime. I feel safer in Manizales than many cities in the United States and Europe. Definitely the safest city in Latin America and I have travelled to virtually every country in LATAM with the exception of the Guyanas.

Manizales is a nice small city.
Manizales is a nice small city. The people are genuinely friendly and honest . I have no data on my phone and they went out of their way to help me. Many times ensuring I got to my address and even walked me there.
I asked a lot for directions and in my 6 months travelling Colombia without data , the people were and are exceptional.

Many green hills and much beautiful nature; forests, flowers, birds, scenery.
Friendly people. Close to national park Nevada del Ruiz (ca. 1hour) and several thermal pools (from 15 min. up). A Cable car.
Must have some physical ability to walk many steep streets if you consider walking outside of the main street of the city center.
Has a gastronomic area (G-zone) with many restaurants of all kinds of (international & local) food.

Manizales is not a nice town.
Manizales is not a nice town. I mean it has some modern and nice buildings in the center but most of the buildings in the city were not nice and the whole city looked poor and neglected. If you go with a private car, be aware that on some days traffic is prohibited depending on the number of the car. So a good solution is to go to the nearby town of Villa Maria and take the cable car to the center of Manizales. The town has a wonderful church and a very beautiful square dedicated to Simon Bolivar. If you want to stay there, choose the "Estelar Recinto Del Pensamiento Hotel Y Centro De Convenciones" hotel which is out of the city, it isn't expensive and it's located in an eco-park But it's (a bit)
far away from the center of the town.

The Cable area of Manizales is the place to stay, Centro of the city is noisy and lots of traffic. The entire city is CLEAN! People are friendly.
Surprisingly food is typically not served with any spice or sauce, you always need to ask for salt or pepper. #1 value in Manizales = Bretton Restaurant near the stadium. World Class food and view, 14th floor.
Affordable rooms in a beautiful setting, this property is absolutely worth a visit. The thermal pools are plentiful so you can expect to find a quiet/alone corner any time of the day. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious, the views out of the window were amazing.
The restaurant feels a little overpriced judging by the food quality but is worth a visit nonetheless. The restaurant staff are all lovely.
This hotel is great value for money and was a pleasure for us to stop at for a relaxing time.
I used the Termales del Ruiz as it was conveniently located for me, having cycled over the Nevado del Ruiz. The location is spectacular, nestled on the Manizales side of the volcano.
But you can't survive on views alone, particularly in an area which frequently has poor weather. Once you have finished in the termales there really is nowhere to relax other than your (small but adequate) room or the dining room, which isn't the most inviting or comfortable place.
Casa Caturro is a lovely place, some of the rooms have a wonderful view of Manizales which is a plus. Vladimir the host is an amazing person, ready to teach you about coffee and to pour you a great cup to enjoy with your family.
The place is in a residential neighborhood which allows you to enjoy a calm evening but convenient enough so you are not far from the action. The house is lovely in general and I will be happy to stay again there.
This hotel was the perfect place for us. Julianna was exceptionally helpful to us throughout our stay, she even contacted the lady where we were staying when we left Manizales. She also spoke to the bus driver in Bogota bus station, on our behalf, which saved us a two hour wait, she did this even though we had left the hotel. We are most grateful for her time and advice. I would certainly stay here again if in Manizales.
Overall an excellent experience at the Quo Quality Hotel where we stayed for 2 and then another 7 nights. Spacious modern rooms, comfortable beds, very friendly staff, good breakfast for Colombian standards, great roof terrace, nearby shops and shopping center in the Palermo barrio. This hotel is our favourite in the city of Manizales. We will certainly be back.
The hotel was perfect! This is a classic hotel in the city, and although the years are notorious, the hotel is in good condition. It is located downtown and you have a lot of places to visit. The service is great, the rooms are spacious and with all the facilities. I would only improve the mattress, as this is not the most comfortable.
such a beautifully quiet spot of the edge of the craziness of Manizales.
the room was perfect, the bed comfortable and the showers hot.
the view over the valley was incredible!
breakfast was adequate and tasty. staff were all lovely and helpful. also secure parking for motorcycles
Hotel is very nice. Looks very fresh with good cofee for free.
Nice cool pool.
Lot of possibilities to walk around and see bananas, coffee plants and guava.
Nice stuff- who explains possibilities and gives you a map.
Very recommended.
Very good lunch and dinner.
Very nice and convenient. Staff is friendly and responsive to requests and your satisfaction is important. I have stayed at this hotel many times and it is my favorite in Manizales. Shopping and restaurants are nearby with taxis always available.
The hotel has everything: a beautiful location, friendly staff and delicious food. And of course, the hot springs. The free tour they offer is very nice, because you see the beautiful surroundings and hummingbirds.
The hotel was wonderful. The amenities including pool and hot springs were beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was great. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Cabin was clean and equipped adequately.
everything was perfect; every person who worked at the hotel was very nice. The room always was clean, and it is very spacious and with a beautiful view of the downtown.
