Perfect location on the Camino. Super clean shared bath with luxuriously hot water. Single room snug but clean and comfortable twin, much like a monks cell made better by window onto the walking path. Lighting adequate for reading. Outlets close to bed. Friends had private double that was clean and inviting with bathroom. Radiators controlled the heat well. Tea/ coffee maker in entryway. Checkin was smooth. Nice bar/restaurant Bar OCastro easy walking distance even in rain - had all meals and kind staff.

This is a truly special property. Wonderful mix of old world charm and present-day amenities. I was helped with a taxi to/from the Camino and was welcomed by staff by name at the door. The room was beautifully decorated and the terrace was a lovely place to unwind with a glass of wine and olives. I saw previous reviews that were not great regarding the restaurant but I have to say I was blown away. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, and the service was exceptional. Everyone made me feel like I was the only person staying there. I found it while researching a non-alburgue type of lodging, but I’d say that if you are planning a trip in the general vicinity you should give this hotel a try. I had the most basic room type but got a peek at a bigger room while they were cleaning, and wow! Very special. I’m just sad I didn’t get a chance to use the spa/fitness center due to my schedule.
