It is a lovely city and the hortillonages are very interesting and lovely to walk in. The cathedral is well worth a visit and we had the privilege of attending Sunday Mass there which we loved. Very reverent and befitting of true worship. Beautiful singing. We can also recommend Ad Hoc Café in the St Leu district. Good food and well priced; good vibe.

This visit (my second to Amiens) Day 1 started at the Saturday canal-side market, lots of stalls with seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the Hortonillage and the Somme region. Then I dipped into some shops - including an inspiring visit to the ground floor of the big Monoprix where clever lighting makes quite ordinary day to day food look irresistible, some of the many new and secondhand bookshops, a huge ironmongers and an over-the-top patisserie. In the afternoon, to Jules Verne's house: a wonderfully, eccentric building; full of marvellous furniture and objects, very well curated. I spent the whole of Day 2 (7 am - 4 pm at the extraordinary - huge - Spring Braderie. I found that my visit to the Jules Verne house, and its thoughtful interpretation made the market especially enjoyable. Many of the stalls had examples of the things I had found so interesting in the house - for instance archeological finds, including flint axes, found around Amiens; corals and shells; endless examples of oil lamps (some working, other 'do-er' uppers). Many stalls had very good pieces of ceramic from different periods and cultures. Lots of the stall holders were up for a good bit of haggling. Then a glass of beer in the sun-shine ,sitting on the street outside a cafe, buzzing with laughing locals and visitors. Amiens is a very walkable city, its buildings are fabulous. It's lively and very clean.

Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral. Well worth a look around. Nice cafes. Parking was initially a problem as large town centre car park ticket machines did not work. We got a side street machine which worked fine.

Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking. The cathedral in particular, is spectacular, but it's not the only place of interest in, or around, the town. St Leu, and Les Hortillonnages, plus Le Jardin des Plantes, are well worth visiting and, of course, many of the WW1 sites are within very easy reach, by car.

The staff made this stay amazing. We arrived just before the reception desk closed and struggled to find the underground parking so parked on the street outside and checked in. The staff member was so helpful and kind, sorting us with the parking code (entrance is through a gate just up from the hotel), changed our room to give us a quieter time and a better view, and helped us with directions to town. The room was cosy and quiet with a large bathroom. Clean and neat. Perfect for a night or two in Amiens.

The furnishing of the property was lovely, very stylish and felt homely as well. All the bedrooms were a very good size and clean. The hosts made the stay, although we self checked in, the communication from the hosts was amazing. They were so lovely and welcoming, an absolute delight. We have spent two weeks travelling round France and came across this property and it’s safe to say the hosts were by far the nicest people we had come across.

Perfectly comfortable stay, without any luxury. The room has the basics, nothing more. I found bed to be very comfortable, even more so than much more upscale properties elsewhere. Breakfast has very tasty croissants. The internet was reasonably fast and easy to connect to. The location is ideal for people commuting in and out of Amiens with their own vehicle who don't mind driving/parking downtown for the city's own attractions. Great price.

The location is perfect in the centre of Amiens with an underground car park. Make sure you reserve your parking space at the time of booking. The reception area is more akin to a cocktail bar with dining area. It’s really appealing with an interesting interior decor celebrating Jules Verne (who lived in Amiens until he died). The staff are pleasant and friendly. All in all this hotel is a great find,

Staff were very helpful and curious, even when some spoke very little English and we French. But we persevered 😁. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Plenty of storage and well equipped for a longer stY. We stayed 2 nights, 1 each way in our travels to South West France. Location was superb. We will be staying here again. Amelie and her family made us very welcome in this beautiful century old hotel, lovingly restored. Amelie gave us good advice on what to see , and where to eat on the quay. The cathedral towers over the property in Rue Robert de Luzarches, named after the architect who designed this epic building. We left after a lovely breakfast served by Amelie

Warm welcome at check-in with Helene at front desk; she helped with baggage and found the perfect restaurant. Our room was like a chapel, including arches and columns, with nice bathroom, and a view of cathedral spires. Perfect location; one walks out the front door and runs into the piazza of Amiens cathedral. We will come back!

The hotel is next to the hôtel de ville d'Amiens in the city center, and all hot spots are within walking distance. The breakfast was decent, and the room was quiet with a comfortable bed. The closest public paid car park is « Parking Indigo Amiens Hôtel De Ville », which is a two minute walk from the hotel.
