Location was great, and the guy on reception was great. They stored our bikes in a secure space for us, and gave us bottles of cold water when we arrived hot and tired at the end of a long day! Plus recommendations with regards where to explore to find food. Beds were comfy.

For The cost the room was clean and newly renovated but the neighborhood is less intersting. The owner seems to be making an effort to upgrade.

We enjoyed our one night stay in Beziers . It’s really lovely around the cathedral next to the hotel where we stayed with great views over the area and beyond . Eating out is a pleasure as there are many restaurants to choose from . If busy it’s best to book . We enjoyed walking around the town looking at the Trompe L’oiel on the walls . There is a trail to follow but we didn’t have time . We would have liked to have visited the canal locks nearby too . Unless there are events on , it’s not the most exciting town but we really enjoyed it and if visiting again would stay 3-6 nights using the town as a base to explore other areas /towns nearby .

The centre of town was just a few minutes walk away, through a noisy underpass. Beziers was charming, the people friendly and the food good. Railway and bus connections were easy. The central boulevard and Plateau des Poets ideal for a pleasant stroll. Canal du Midi a bonus!

Later in the evenings there were a lot of immigrants in the main square. We ate at one of the restaurants recommended by our host. We visited the 9 locks which was very interesting, with a restaurant on site.

Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town.
Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town. Also visited Les 9 Ecluses de Fonseranes and Tunnel du Malpas (Canal du Midi), and Oppidum d'Enserune (a 2,500 year old celtic settlement). Also drove to the nearby coastal towns but were disappointed that there was not more activity for the time of year (early/mid September).

I ended up staying in Beziers spontaneously without doing any research, and that's also how I ended up at Hotel la Prison. It was a great surprise all around. There are loads of things to see around Beziers, and a lot of history I had no idea about. A good cultural getaway and escape.
The hotel is a unique exposition of an artist work from local talents. The infinity pool in the garden gives the whole facility a luxury touch. In combination with the architecture of the reconstructed mansion from 19th century the whole estate gives an impression of a modern fusion of a future and a past.
Reception recommended and booked a dinner table on our request in a great restaurant. Breakfast offered several healthy choices - a figue bread was my favorite. A heads-up to motor-bikers: otherwise paid parking is free for motorcycles.
Loved the rooftop bar, our little terrace and the hotel’s artwork. We also loved the location, with a beautiful fountain and enormous public art installation of flowers very close by. The hotel is part of a very popular outdoor cafe, which meant a lot of noise just outside our window. The insulation was excellent, though - It got very quiet when we closed the French door.
Everything! The staff were so helpful and friendly. I arrived very early for check-in but as a room was available, they were happy to accommodate an early check-in. Hôtel was very clean, comfortable bed. A lovely courtyard and a nice atmosphere in general. Excellent location, in the centre of Beziers.
This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful and a little piece of paradise in Beziers. It felt like our own private Villa even though it was full. Decor was done with perfection and the staff and service were outstanding. Would not hesitate to book again.
This hotel is run by an incredible staff who are v welcoming and helpful. The room was decorated with art nouveau, as were the public and dining room where we had a delicious and plentiful breakfast. Absolutely charming. The view over the square was wonderful!
Alain was an excellent host a lovely man most helpful.
Beziers is a beautiful city with lots of tourism potential a new mainly pedestrian boulevard & the pizza with the fountains were just in front of the apartment tres jolie!
Why stay in soulless chain hotel box when for a better price you can stay in this converted Nunnery with charm by the bucket! If those stairs could tell a tale? I will now be using this for my regular trips to Beziers.
Staff were fantastic, location was was easy walk to town centre and the room was quite spacious and very clean. Air con worked very well unlike some hotels in the south of France during a very hot summer.
Top, perfect to visit Beziers. Photos just seem less basic as it is. But down the road, it is immaculate, perfectly located, top of top. Thank you. I do suggest everyone to enjoy it there.
The staff at the property are outstanding.
Easy up hill walk through the park from the trail station to reach the hotel.
For the price it is what you’d expect.
Nice, pleasant boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Good sized room. Clean. Excellent continental breakfast that you could have indoors or outside on a nice terrace,
cute little hotel right in the heart of Beziers old town. very convenient in terms of location. the room was cozy and warm. good utilization of all the space.
Ben is a formidable guy. Very charming. The hotel is cozy and nice. The location in front of the river is the best. Room with balcony with view to the river.
