Lama is a stunning medieval mountain town/village.

Lama is a stunning medieval mountain town/village. The locals are traditional, so it does help if you can speak a bit of French - when we stayed, we spoke sub-GCSE standard French, meaning ordering at the local Alama restaurant (which is ah-mazing, by the way) was a bit tricky! Lama itself has two walks that you can take; one up Mount Asta, the other following the 'memories' of the town (this one takes you past some beautiful scenery and isn't too challenging). Lama is so tranquil. It becomes weird when you DO hear sound! The buildings are in the traditional shabby-chic style that the French so effortlessly carry off, and the entire place is pretty jaw-dropping - and don't get me started on the views!!! If you're not staying here, you should definitely visit, 100%.
