In the 24 hours we had, we visited the cathedral, Joan of Arc’s church and the Musée de Beaux Arts, all really interesting. Had a lovely meal in a Paul’s, a very traditional restaurant by the cathedral.

Rouen is a most attractive town with wonderful gothic and timber framed buildings. Extremely walkable everywhere. Lots of fun speciality shops, decent groceries and good restaurants. Lively with lots of sidewalk cafe people watching. Viking river cruise boats stop here and during the mid-day you will see big cruise boat tours coming from Le Harve. The train station is very tidy, helpful and convenient.

Our last visit was 10 years ago and Rouen has changed.
Our last visit was 10 years ago and Rouen has changed. The charming pedestrian street to the Horloge is peppered with American fast-food joints and the bodies of the homeless sleeping under the arches. It certainly detracts from the historic city of Jeanne d'Arc.

Stunning city with beautiful architecture.
Stunning city with beautiful architecture. Easy to park and to get around. Plenty of pedestrian streets. Highly recommend a visit to the cathedral - free entry and open quite late. The Sunday market was amazing - a combination of food stalls, clothing, antiques and books. Could happily have spent a couple of hours there. The city also has a great selection of independent shops and of course lots of cafes and restaurants.. Well worth a visit

There were very many historical buildings and churches in Rouen - it is not just an industrial town. We had a one night stay on our way further south on a motoring holiday, but will happily visit again. It is within easy reach of London.
The hotel is in walking distance of the historic centre of Rouen. Our room was at the front so there was traffic noise when the window was open. The bed was very comfy and ensuite was clean. We parked in the underground car park (which is quite a tight space on 3 levels) and charged our electric car for free! We visited the Museum des Beaux Arts before leaving Rouen and were able to leave the car in the hotel car park after checking out and then paid before departing.
The hotel has one of the best positions in town, very convenient for someone who travels for pleasure on one's own, without a car. It's in the city center, right in front of the main train station (Gare SNCF - Rive Droite). The main tourist attractions are accessible on foot and one can also visit Rouen surroundings such as Giverny by train since the station is within 1 minute reach. Also, the area of the train station is safe and clean (at least during daytime).
The apartment was spacious, beautifully appointed and comfortable in a classic wood timbered building. Our hostess Mariie Christine was so friendly, and accommodating, and her homemade cakes, crepes and jellies were great for breakfast. She was very knowledgeable about Rouen and gave great advice regarding sights to visit.
Great central location near to all the attractions of old Rouen
A very comfortable apartment with convenient parking. The parking space is ´tight’ though so best to check your car will fit through the entrance!
Owners were very helpful & communication with them was excellent
We would definitely stay again
We had a very good time at the IBIS in Rouen. The room is small but very clean and the bed is very comfortable.
The staff is very welcoming. The commun area is very very nice. The breakfast is really good too and great selection of food. We definitely recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money.
The location of the hotel is excellent, which is 10 minutes walk from old town center and the tower Donjon de Rouen is just next to the hotel, which Jeanne-d'Arc was held after the execution. The hotel is pretty new and meets our expectation of equipment. The breakfast is great even in Covid time.
I didn’t. booked two nights, didn’t even stay one after walking into the lobby from hell. all I could think from non-attentive person behind desk talking to boyfriend that this must be where hookers ply their trade. the lobby is small with nothing in it. wouldn’t even know it was a hotel.
Staff was excellent at check in and also was very helpful when we realized my wife had left her iPad in the room. They were very courteous to help locate it and then work with us to mail it ahead to another location where we were staying later in our trip to France.
The room was nicely laid out with plenty of room to move around. The window could be opened. A larger bathroom than is normally found in European hotels. The staff were always friendly and greeted you whenever you entered the lobby
Excellent hotel, safe secure parking and easy 5 min walk to restaurants and shops etc.
Really nice couple who own the hotel and could not have been more helpful and welcoming.
Would definitely stay again when visiting Rouen.
The hotel.is clean, with parking facilities and breakfast option. I loved the small attention to detail like good pillows, toiletries which most hotels don't offer. It's very good value for money
We've returned to this hotel perhaps 10 times, and it's always brilliant. Excellent location near city centre with parking. Very helpful and friendly hosts. We're already planning our next visit.
Very close to Rouen centre, host was communicative and supportive. We were three men from the UK in France for a 5 day work trip - would stay here again.
The location of Mercure Rouen Centre Cathédrale is perfect for visiting the monuments of the old town, wandering in the streets and enjoying great food.
