Simple French breakfast but fresh bread and croissants and very nice jam. Also very nice homemade brownie. Good coffee. The room is more of an apartment with a lounge and large bathroom. Little courtyard to sit in. Nice position by the river where there are picnic tables if you want to sit out with take-away food. It's an interesting place, an old forge. The breakfast room is like a mini museum with various old tools. It's a great stop-over and very good value.

We stayed one night on our way to the south of France.
We stayed one night on our way to the south of France. Location was ideal being just off the A20 and about 30 km south of Orleans. The manager spoke good English and nothing was too much trouble, she actually likes to practice her English. We had a lovely room with a balcony and a nice big bathroom. Have already booked to stay there on our return journey

Salbris is South of Orleans and is on the main non motorway road travelling north/south. We stayed for one night as it was a good location, having traveled from Carcassonne that day and heading for Dieppe the next day.
The town seems to have fallen on hard times with quite a few shops closed/up for sale. But it may be that it's just a quiet place on a Tuesday evening in August.
We found a few bars, but limited dining options outside the hotel we were staying in. But the hotel restaurant as excellent so not too much of a hardship.

The Hôtel-Restaurant La Sauldraie where we stayed was a real gem, our spacious room had an en suite large bathroom, overlooking the charming garden. The restaurant menu is traditional French cuisine, very tasty, the chef and his wife have owned and run the hotel for the last twelve years. We found it at short notice and after a delicious breakfast, carried on our journey south without seeing much of Salbris. We’ll definitely stay there again if we’re in the area, very good value and welcoming.
We stopped here for one night en route driving down to Spain.
It's not too far from the motorway and is in a quiet location with a small wood to the rear with a circular route, which was lovely to wander around after a long day in the car.
Though our french was rubbish, some of the staff did speak English which helped enormously.
We did opt to have dinner in the hotel as opposed to attempting to go into town and went for the set menu at EUR42. (it's more expensive than a la carte). Breakfast is extra at EUR12
Lovely setting close to the motorway though extremely quiet. Set in acres of land that would give opportunity for woodland walks. The hotel grounds have a lovely long drive and grassed area perfect for playing with our dog.
The rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The staff pleasant and food delicious. The restaurant is very good and breakfast superb.
You can take your dog into the restaurant and for breakfast in the morning.
Perfect, quiet, well located accommodation. very secure, very quaint. We were driving South and this was about half way, we used it on the way down and again on the way back.
Salbris is a lovely little town, so once you arrive, its a good place to have a wonder around and get a drink in one of the local bars.
Also there is an excellent bakery close by.
Well done, we will use you again.
Hotel on the road into the town but our room faced out the back of the hotel.
Good car park which felt secure.
Staff/owner were friendly and helpful at check-in, check out and during the stay. It's just a place that seems to offer good service as part of the package.
Ate well in the restaurant that evening and good breakfast is available (you select what you' like the night before).
The location was good for an overnight stop and parking was only a short distance away. We had a good evening meal in the hotel but unfortunately the breakfast was minimal and disappointing. I suppose no real complaints as it met our needs on our way home from a brilliant holiday.
Beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds, staff were so helpful and professional. The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean with a huge bed and lovely en-suite. The food was exceptional with some very interesting and delicious food combinations.
Breakfast was a very good continental, with fresh produce. The optional dinner was also vert tasty and good value.
The hotel is located remotely in the woods so very quiet and we had a good nights sleep, but it is a 10-15 minute drive up a track.
Excellent hotel and ideal for stop over driving to South of France. Very helpful, friendly staff. All parts of the hotel are clean, comfortable and COVID safe. Evening meal and breakfast very good. We would highly recommend this hotel.
slightly small room but the hotel is lovely and the restaurant was amazing for dinner. would expect slightly more choice for breakfast but again perfectly pleasant. the staff were really friendly.
Great location close to Autoroute, midway between Calais and the south coast.
good value compared with hotel chains .
Excellent breakfast using mainly home-made produce .
