Rooms are renovated and very nice, great & friendly staff, very good food in the restaurant and the bar has an impressive selection of different whisky brands
To edit: The mile long tree lined High Street has an attractive square and village green and located right in the center of the Village is the Aberlour Hotel.

What a surprising treat! This unassuming little hotel had touches that took it a step above the rest. Each room, we booked five, had a record player in it. There was a treat in each room as well, Walker biscuits, of course. The bathroom was large and well equipped with a very nice shower. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, and the service at the hotel breakfast was amazing. The kids ordered the pancakes and bacon, and I wish I had as well! Delicious! The buffet featured, fresh berries, such a rarity in most hotels. There is ample parking in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and return. Don’t miss out on walking the Speyside river walk across the way and visiting they original Walker shortbread shop, a few doors down
Welcome to Cardhu Country House which sits in the very heart of the Malt Whiskey Trail.

We loved the country location and house - it was quite convenient having a very nice whisky distillery just a five minute walk away 😊. Other distilleries, fishing spots, restaurants etc. were quite close by car. Breakfast was delicious (perfect eggs) and our hosts could not have been nicer and more helpful. Sorry, I thought I reviewed earlier but I guess it didn’t go through. Highly recommend.

An amazing cottage - with such character and all the modern amenities. Our hosts had thought of everything - so many nice touches. Sharon and Kevin have done a masterful job on the Coachman's Cottage and we had plenty of room for a family of 4 adults. There was such great communication before, during, and after the trip that I felt like we had made new friends! So many great recommendations and the cottage is wonderfully suited central location from exploring the beaches in the north to the many whisky distilleries. The only thing we didn't like was . . . leaving!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, down to earth people, clean and tidy accommodations, and the location. We were able to walk to the Glenfiddich Distillery from the Inn and to the shops around town. The breakfast was delicious! Thanks for a great stay!

The Station hotel was the best hotel on our Speyside Way. The rooms were very comfortable and dinner and breakfast of high standard. We especially liked the pairing of food and whisky on the menu. Overall an excellent experience that comes with a price.

Great butchers on the high street, amazing deli and wine shop and a great whiskey shop as well. Decent local supermarket. The Hotel has a really nice bar that serves excellent draught beers. Plenty of local whiskey distilleries. Brilliant fish and chip shop.
Beautiful walks along the river and a decent play area for children.
Amazing fishing on the river spey that can be booked at The Aberlour Hotel and the cost doesn't break the bank.

A nice little town with all the basics, Co-op, Ironmongers, Paper shop and Spey Larder with luxury foods.
A good Fish & Chip Shop and Chinese Takeaway.
The river walks run very close to the town centre.
There are a couple of pubs, at least, but we didn't try any.
A pretty Scottish Highland Town with beautiful countryside surroundings.
And quite level to walk around.

Walkers shortbread factory shop in the village. On the whisky distillery trail. Close to Aviemore and Grantown on spey. Not far from the coast. Some lovey walks and wild life.
Only a few restaurants so be sure to book early.

If you are a whisky lover, the place needs no introduction.
If you are a whisky lover, the place needs no introduction. If not, still a pretty little village in a scenic setting. Lots of waking opportunities and ever more distillery visit chances. As they all close at 5 or before, we developed a habit of visiting well-appointed whisky bars, which offer you an amazing selection of a wide range of brands. They even provide fair advice on dram discoveries, I suppose less biased than at any distillery.

The walk along the river spey is very easily accessible and an easy and beautiful walk. The chippy is good. The Dowans Hotel was excellent. The Mash Tun had good atmosphere and choice of whisky but the food was average. Public transport is good and the bus stand in the town displays electronic bus times. Parking in the town is free and plentiful. There is a beautiful delicate essence/food and sandwich shop called the Speyside Larder.

Our first time in that neck of the woods.
Our first time in that neck of the woods. Aberlour is positively huge in comparison to a much smaller Dufftown, where we started our trip! Both towns, and all the surrounding areas are beautiful, calm, quiet, feeling very secluded and out of the way when coming up from Edinburgh! The walks anywhere around there are amazing, but especially in Aberlour along the river Spey, which looked wild, pristine, clear and sparkling.
Mash Tun hotel and whiskey bar is amazing, and the food better than anywhere we have eaten in the Highlands, and better than most places in Edinburgh.
Really really amazing place. Incredibly cosy with excellent facilities; everything you could need for a relaxing hideaway. Almost too good though as I never wanted to leave! Very good location for those who can tear themselves away though, easy walk into lovely Aberlour with a fab range of shops and cafes, and awesome walking along the speyside way or into the hills pretty much on your doorstep. Oh and distilleries seemingly round every corner so fab for a whisky break, which I’m planning on returning for as soon as I can!
We loved the country location and house - it was quite convenient having a very nice whisky distillery just a five minute walk away 😊. The Barn is lovely. Jody and Michelle have thought of everything and are terrific hosts. This is the first stay at the Barn but we have stayed at the cottage before. Both brill. The cottage great for a family. The Barn a great couples getaway. Easy walk into Aberlour. Handy for both distilleries and walks, Deers in the field next to us. Hopefully back soon
Breakfast was good, but mostly the same offerings we had all over Scotland. Except for some wonderful french toast that my husband ate all three mornings. The location was great for exploring Speyside. The room was great... very clean and comfortable. We would stay here again. It was one of our favorite lodgings during our 16 days in Scotland.
The cottage is great, well-equipped and in a very convenient location, close enough to Aberlour to walk (and there's a walkway along the main road). The living room makes for a lovely place to chill at the end of a day exploring the area.
And Michelle was a very good, responsive and at the same time discreet host.
Good location to visit places although I was there to visit family.
Parking outside the door
Close to restaurants but try to book early. I arrived on the Saturday and couldn't get in anywhere in Aberlour or the next village Craigellachie. Drove quite a distance until I managed to get in somewhere.
This is a lovely place to stay. Our room looked over the river and was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - I would recommend the fresh fruit salad and the cooked breakfast was tasty, freshly cooked and hot. Communication from the Mash Tun was great.
The property was the in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in Speyside. Sharen was a very gracious host and gave us some wonderful recommendations. The place was very cozy and had everything we needed for the perfect stay!
A stunning house, set in a stone courtyard surrounded by beautiful countryside. The property is fresh and spotlessly clean throughout. The bedrooms are boutique hotel quality and everything is well equipped. Wifi signal was strong.
Very comfortable property. Well appointed with everything that you need. Ideally located for a short walk into the village centre to access shops etc. We liked taking an evening walk along the river for a drink in the Mash Tun.
We loved everything about this property. Colin and Sarah were lovely hosts. The bedroom/bathroom beautifully appointed and comfortable.
Breakfast delicious and a lovely menu to choose from. Very quiet rural area.
the hotel manager gave us the warmest welcome that we felt like the mash tun was our home. we received the friendliest and most attentive service for the duration of our stay. I didn’t want to leave 😢
Breakfast was exceptional, varied menu and plenty of it. The room was immaculate, spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. The hosts were very attentive and wanted your stay to be perfect.
Off-street parking and walking distance to restaurants, waterfalls and distilleries. Very nice staff, very good breakfast, very comfortable beds, large private bathroom.
