Much better staff than when we stayed a year ago, and a nicer top floor room. (Last year we were taken first into a different room with people already in it, and then got quite a poor room...)

Best location for a quiet and remote stay with the most amazing views. The track to house however was bad and full of deep potholes.

The location is great base for exploring if you have a car. The train line is next to the property but this was not an issue as only a very few trains go by. The annex is cosy but comfortable. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The annex is supplied with bottled water, tea coffee milk a fridge, plates and cups. There are no cooking facilities but there are places nearby by car. Big fluffy towels are supplied. Beds were also really comfy.

Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit and yoghurt option perfect for me. Our hosts could not have been kinder or more welcoming. The room was very well equipped with a Nespresso and there were just so many thoughtful touches.
Just 20 minutes from Inverness, Kincraig Castle Hotel is a period property with magnificent views, and boasts a central location for exploring the north of Scotland.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! The house is a real castle hotel and has the - sometimes melancolic - charm that results from a long past.

A bustling small town with good shopping, convenient for A9 and with railway station in town centre. Many takeaway food outlets and several "dine-in" options....but, with the exception of the Tandoori restaurant, all dine-ins stop taking orders after about 1930.

Alness is a great place to stay. The location is central for going North or South. Quiet, peacful town with lovely streets, flower displays etc. High street has a good selection of bespoke shops. Local people friendly and helpful. Cafes, restaurants, takeaways, petrol station, supermarkets, station and forest walks - a delight.

The location suited us as we travelled up to John O'Groats and wanted to break our journey. Had we had more time we would have stayed longer and enjoyed the surrounding area as the accommodation was so good.
