Charming house and location overseen by the equally charming Michael Mertens who cooked a super breakfast.

It made me laugh. The breakfast was excellent and the overworked chef reminded us of Basil Fawlty. I have nothing else to add.

From the staff through to our rooms and food, all were excellent, we couldn't fault anything. We particularly enjoyed the evening we ate delicious pizzas in the beautifully kept gardens.

The BEST welcome I've received in a long time.
Tia is great, detailed and thorough and genuinely pleased to welcome guests to her home. The room was lovely, well equipped and nicely decorated, with a very comfy bed. Very good WiFi, plenty of parking and a short stroll to the town. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed in the Junior Suite at Stonehenge Cottages. It is pleasantly decorated with a very good bathroom. The location is exceptionally quiet. The suite - which is a kind of a bedsitter with an additional small kitchen - contains all necessary facilities. Everything is of a high quality. There are perhaps too many things in too small a space (a very large fan, for example, takes up all the space in the wardrobe (but it's good to have a wardrobe).

The cottage was perfect for our one night stay. My mum & Dad have limited mobility & it was perfect being on one level with a rail in the big walk in shower.

A lovely little village - a tranquil spot, yet just off the A303 and close to many lovely towns and attractions - Stonehenge, Stourhead, The Newt, Bruton, Shaftesbury.
The village itself is a small, linear settlement, but it does have a nice old pub, The Boot, with gardens adjacent to the river. Great for an evening meal or lunch.
