Gurnard looked very pretty, and an affluent part of the island, but there were roads closed so could not travel around as easily as we would have liked. Cowes is very close and is a lovely place to visit too.

Gurnard is right on the Solent so there was always plenty of sailing ships to watch if you sit on the seafront. It’s a flat easy walk into Cowes. The beach is very pebble which means get put people with children off visiting.
