Location was just outside Hathersage, about 10min walk away. Excellent area for walking out from so you don’t have to drive to a start.
The room was very nice, clean, well equipped and had a comfy bed.
Breakfast had a good selection of options.
We also ate in the pub too and it was excellent.
Staff were very nice, accommodating and polite.

The pub has a lovely atmosphere and our bedroom was lovely, dark carved wooden headboard, two lovely comfortable chairs. Yes we had a view of the cemetery from our window but no problem for us. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. Also had a meal in the evening which was also good.

It is a lovely little village not much there for kids but if you like walking it is a really good place, also all places are dog friendly. there is an outdoor heated swimming pool in the village but we did not go in. We did go on a bus tour which is £9.50 for the day we went on the Blue tour. This takes you through the peak district up to blue Johns mines with amazing sights and all the way back to Chatsworth house. You can jump on and off the bus at different villages. We went to see Little John's Grave and a lovely little church in the grounds to visit. there are a few pubs in Hathersage to eat but we ate at the Little John pub.

Hathersage is a good location from which to undertake walks up into the surrounding hills - Stannage Edge is a must - take the train along the Hope Valley to Grindleford and Edale or drive to many other routes.
Hathersage has a number of amenities - food, pharmacy etc - including excellent outdoor equipment and gear shops with people who know what they are talking about and can advise you accordingly.

Nice village. Lovely walks around it so it’s a good base.
Nice village. Lovely walks around it so it’s a good base. Chip shop. Maazi for curry - nice. The plough inn or Little Johns for drinks. The plough inn for good food. Not much in the way of shops. Nisa local or a One Stop, if you want food for walking.
We did the Hathersage, Stoke ford, Eyam Moor, Grindlow, Hucklow edge walk via Leadmill (from the plough inn front door)

Hathersage is a great location for loads of fabulous walks and attractions in the local area. Ofcourse Hathersage itself has the outdoor, heated lido and there are many quaint country pubs scattered locally serving delicious food.
Absolutely spotless. Loved the little touches such as the tea/coffee in jars and plenty of nice biscuits. The fridge in the kitchen has bottles of water and juice that we could help ourselves to. Lynne is a wonderful host, so kind and helpful.
Walking distance to the centre of Hathersage, perfect location.
The continental breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My son loved the table football!
The bed was so comfy and loved the shower.
Would highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you!
Morton Loft is a clean, well-equipped and comfortable apartment located in the middle of a village which has plenty of facilities within walking distance. The owner kept in contact and followed up after our stay.
Although positioned above the butcher's shop and on the junction of two roads it is quiet at night. Hathersage is a great base for exploring the Peak District with excellent walks from the village and has a train service to Sheffield and Manchester. Recommended.
Lovely hotel in the heart of the Peak District. Wonderful staff, very professional, courteous and helpful. Room was beautiful, very eclectic decoration (just my style) but really comfortable. Nice big bed! Also very clean. Pub and restaurant were also wonderful with a great selection of food and drinks. Location is perfect for exploring the Hope Valley region of the Peak District. We'll be back!
Marvellous location in the heart of the village and with easy access to beautiful walks in the area (buses and trains are good too I understand). Hotel is really comfortable with plenty of open space and good food. Every member of staff we came across was delightful and could not be more helpful or welcoming. Our room for the first night - Currer Bell - was all you could hope for.
Fantastic location with east access to Hathersage and the Peaks beyond. If you’re looking to do Stanage Edge the walk starts 10 minutes from here.
Everything was clean and comfortable for our stay. The bedroom and en-suite are modern with great views outside.
Breakfast was fantastic and a great start to the day and they attended to all our needs and were delightful to talk to.
Sladen Lodge is a wonderful property, and Lynne was a fantastic host. It’s located close to the center of Hathersage, and there’s a ton to do in the area. Lynne was very accommodating when I arrived early, and she has great restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable, and the lodge itself was tranquil and peaceful.
Staff, especially Mark, we’re incredibly kind and helpful. Food was delicious- huge portions! I stayed in the Syr Rycharde, which was modern, clean and comfortable. Especially loved the rainfall shower! Very easy distance from the train station located right in central Hathersage. Highly recommend the Little John Hotel!
I loved that this hotel was very dog focused. We have two little sausage dogs and we felt very comfortable. It's a lovely hotel/pub in a great location for walking around the region. Lovely food and a cosy vibe in the evenings. Great to be able to park safely in the car park opposite.
Hotel management was extremely helpful and very hands on. Food was excellent and well priced. Sited on the edge of Dales with wonderful walks from the hotel. Popular at weekends but there was sufficient staff to cope. Dogs and muddy boots friendly.
One of the best hotels I've been to. Great pub with delicious food, breakfast was very filling and fresh and high quality products. Perfect location for walking around the Peak District. I highly recommend this hotel. I will definitely come back here.
a real bed and breakfast, small and personal as I think there are just 3 rooms. Easy accès from Hathersage, excellent communication with the owner.
Much appreciated jacuzzi after our walking efforts.
Lovely homemade cake in the afternoon.
Almost everything. Great staff, very nice menu, delicious breakfast, good size rooms, large screen cable tv, charming village with good alternate dining options. Ritz in the country, but a little too loud with the music.
The hotel, restaurant and bar are all very welcoming. The room itself was beautifully presented with all the comforts needed.
The staff were friendly and welcoming
Would recommend and definitely return for another stay.
