With free WiFi, free parking and a fine restaurant, this hotel used to be a country club. It is in quiet, rural Hopwood, 2.5 km from the M42 and well placed for central Birmingham.

Friendliness of staff. This is the second time we have visited the location. Went above and beyond for our needs. Will definitely visit again. Wonderful stay, once again.
Situated on the outskirts of Bromsgrove, Holiday Inn Birmingham - Bromsgrove offers stylish air-conditioned rooms and a leisure centre.

We received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival, and there was ample parking available. We stayed here for the air show festival, and our room was clean and perfect for our needs.
Dinner in the evenings was amazing, with comfortable seating, plenty of tables, and a great atmosphere all around. Breakfast was also spot on. The staff were always smiling and incredibly helpful; nothing was too much trouble for them. From the receptionists to the waiters and waitresses, everyone was kind and accommodating.
The gym is well-equipped, and the pool is excellent. We will definitely be back! A big thank you to everyone
Set in 25 acres of beautiful grounds, Hillscourt is nestled in the Lickey Hills, 6 miles from Bromsgrove. It offers modern rooms with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, a bistro-style restaurant and bar.
Boasting free parking, Old Farm Hotel offers rooms in Bournville, a 5-minute walk to Cadbury World.

The staff were generally polite, efficient, not outright unfriendly, but clearly too busy to smile much. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were pretty, well-maintained, and pleasant to sit in, whatever the weather, which was conducive to catching up with my family. The food was excellent when catering for my mother's wake, especially when accommodating my vegan daughter with some excellent cake. Just a pity many could not stay long enough to eat it all.
Onsite parking is available but limited and not really enough even if only half of the rooms (5/10) were full, never mind if visitors to the venue arrive on top, as is needed if holding a Wake or any function?
There is on-street parking nearby for mourners potentially.... (but the stay is limited to one hour)
This venue is advertised to cater for a wake of 70 mourners. This could work, provided all mourners arrive by public transport. We had fewer than 20 people, and most could not park. (Most were not local enough to arrive by train/bus, but the local population could do this easily)
There are excellent cafes within a 15-minute walking distance of this hotel, which are very pleasantly situated in the lovely Bournville Green area, where coffee/tea/Brunch can be obtained as breakfast and access to hot drinks from the kitchen/bar closes at 10 am at the hotel. (as you would expect from a bed and breakfast facility) Bournville does not have pubs, etc., as expected in an area created by the Quaker Cadbury Family, and IMO this has maintained the areas beauty. You may need to travel for evening meals and takeaways if that is what you want.
I would happily recommend The Old Farm if you need Bed and Breakfast accommodation based in this part of Birmingham if attending for business or pleasure with one vehicle and no pets.
Old Rose and Crown Hotel is within 400 acres of the beautiful Lickey Hills, 5 minutes' drive from the M5 and M42 motorways, 15 minutes from central Birmingham.

I liked the colour scheme except the wallpaper was peeling off the wall in several places. I liked the shower and water pressure was consistent. I liked there was free tea and coffee available. The bed was clean and comfortable with a neutral white scheme. Good reception for the television but limited channels.
Avoid
If they have a function on do not go ,waited to be seated for dinner for an hour as a paying guest very helpful reception staff well done James duty manager refused to see me about complaint regarding dinner situation disgusting incompetent individual, scott is a insult to the industry. To owner if you have a function on get more staff in so paying guests can have a meal after travelling all day and employ a duty manager who can give customer service like reception.Thaks for ruined stay SCOTT

Clean the bedrooms and toilets properly, let your guests have usage of the heat they want, out a fridge in the guests bedroom so we can bring some essentials in and answer the reception phone as I have been completely ignored.

Westmead hotel was ideally situated for the work I was doing in the area so made the trip very worth while, could have done with staying the night before too as to me a very long time to get to my place of work on the Thursday morning due to the weather and flooded roads.

The size of the bedrooms and the beds where fantastic. I also loved how there was a wedding on and our rooms were close by to the wedding suite, but once we went into the room and shut the door we could hear nothing from the wedding, brilliant, loved that, have not stayed in any other hotel where that was the case. This is the reason why we will stay here again when we come to Birmingham.
Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding reception saturday night! Lovely hotel in lovely setting..fast efficient check in.. Nice big comfortable rooms, huge bed...very clean.. very friendly staff. Totally worth what we paid. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay, would definatly stay again and highly reccommend.....
This is our second visit and everywhere was as immaculately clean as the first - bedroom, bathroom, public areas, dining room, none could be faulted. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely use this hotel again but maybe not without having a personal word with them first - see heating glitch.
I’ve stayed here for a few years as a stopover Fromm Leeds to Swansea. The hotel is in a good location just off the motorway… the staff are usually pleasant and helpful and the restaurant is good value for decent meals.
The rooms are very spacious and good to have a bath and shower too.
Really good quality room and the food was delicious. We were attending the funeral of a good friend and really appreciated the hotel allowing us all to eat together in the evening.
