Ateugglws to get a table in the restaurant.
Ateugglws to get a table in the restaurant. The food was good but we had to sit near an open door, which was draughty. The bathroom was a bit tired but adequate. The bed was rock hard. I was told the mattress was brand new. Not convinced. Still it was cheap, so you can't expect luxury. We didn't get a good night's sleep due to other patrons deciding to have a conversation outside our room at midnight, and then leaving in the early hours noisily. But rhat is not the hotel's fault.
The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant offers a wide choice and the food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. We were late for breakfast on our final morning, forgetting it ends at 9am during the week, but the restaurant manager was still able to provide a tasty continental selection.
The whole experience was great. Some family joined us in the evening (they didn't like their hotel!) and we enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Wheatsheaf. So much so, that the next day, after a trip out, we returned to have our meal. The staff were all friendly and helpful, which is always a bonus to us when we're away.
The staff both when booking in & in the restaurant were very pleasant & attentive. The evening meal was really very good we had steak, one had the sirloin & the other had the rump also the peppercorn mushrooms are to die for.
It's just a shame that the actual hotel is now very tired & in need of a total upgrade.
The cleanliness of the place, well equipped, friendly staff, breakfast was amazing. Coffee was divine. Love the country pub scene. The hotel is located in an idyllic village. Beds was very comfy and warm. Would definitely stay here here again.
The hotel is dated, no doubt, but still not bad for the price and what's most important - the rooms are very clean.
And the breakfasts are to absolutely die for! For that reason alone I will definitely come again when on the way.
All the staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were friendly and professional, they went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and so reasonably priced.
Perfect stopover location. Great for the price and the food (dinner and breakfast) in the pub was better than a typical motorway hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I’d stop here again.
3rd time I stayed in this hotel. Do you really need more of a recommendation?
Very well priced for what you get. Really helpful staff. Very clean room. Cooked breakfast to die for.
