Location is perfect. We have stayed here twice before and had a river view room, which was lovely. The breakfast is superb and there is plenty of choice to cater for everyone. We didn't have a river view this time, which we would have liked, but the extra per night for one of those was a bit steep. There are a lot of older guests, which suits us. No large single sex groups are allowed.
On the banks of the River Foss, Novotel York Center is located near the historical city walls and a short river stroll to the center.

Lovely, stylish hotel with really friendly, welcoming staff and in a brilliant location to walk into the city. The parking was also really convenient and very good value.
Ideally located, family-run Wheatland Lodge Hotel offers good value accommodations, just a 5-minute walk from York Train Station and a 10-minute walk from York's historic center.

Room was clean, updated, and nicely appointed. Staff were cheerful, friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was outstanding with lots of options. We enjoyed pizza and beers in the beer garden one evening - definitely a pleasant experience if the weather cooperates.
