The suite we stayed in had a terrific view, very spacious, terrific pool area, and great location. The property manager was always helpful. We were also a day late to the hotel as our ferry was cancelled and the whole interaction with the hotel was managed terrifically

The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive.
The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive. The most scenic part of the town was more or less off-limits to tourists. While little shops had popped up all over the town, they were mostly tastefully adorned with a painted sign announcing their name and wares. Probably the tourist and the local weighting of the town was even. I've visited Folegandros numerous times over the past 45 years and I've seen it grow gracefully. In the early days, it was a declining farming island as the young people migrated to the big cities. Then, there was only one hotel in the town. But along the line, it resisted the temptation to sell out like some of the other Greek islands have done and it is now a very restful and satisfying place to visit.

This is a great relaxed town with plenty of dining options on 4 squares, plenty of shops and enough to do. You need a swimming pool at your hotel as beaches are too far to walk. Boat trip around island to reach all beaches was great option. Cheap bus to port every half hour or hire scooter or car. Small island can be covered quickly if you have own transport. Beaches was not our priority so if that's your thing choose a hotel on one of the two inhabited coastal spots! Folegandros is a quaint island with donkeys and rural working farms with enough small beaches if you make some effort from Chora.

The cutest little town on the cutest little island!
The cutest little town on the cutest little island! We rented a quad bike to get around which made it so easy to roam the entire island. Hiking up to watch the sunset at the Church of Panagia is a must! Most restaurants and shops close for siesta between 3pm - 5pm, but the whole town comes to life once the sun sets. We had delicious meals at Piatsa, Souvlaki Club, and Araxe. Parasagas has amazing gelato and the drinks at Aquarius were divine!

1. The church at the top of the hill, accessible through the zig-zag path. You get the best views of Chora from that path. You can see how Chora sits on top of a 200-meter cliff.
2. The spectacular views - so barren, so rocky, so wild but so beautiful.
3. Ano Meria. There are some cool cafes to check out and buy some local liqueur. Do not forget to visit the Folk Museum too. It is very interesting.
4. 1790 Wine Cave. Go for a meal there. It is a high-end restaurant but well worth a visit. It is right next door to Antheia's Apartments.
5. Do visit Canelle Bakery! It is quite hidden but have lovely cakes and pastries.
6. Try the local watermelon pie.
7. Check out Agali Beach for its picture-perfect turquoise blue waters.
8. Try the 52% Rakomelo in the town centre in one of the restaurants. You can see it prominently advertised on the garden wall of the restaurant as you walk around. It is served to you ON FIRE!
9. Try the fig gelato in one of the gelato cafes.
10. Visit Fata Morgana hotel and have a cocktail at its bar. There are some cool cocktails there. And a very friendly bartender works there too. You can ask him about the island of Nysiros if you want to stay on a volcanic island.

Lovely, scenic charming town!
Lovely, scenic charming town! Cute pedestrian streets leading to four main squares. Note that many restaurants aren't open at lunch time during May. To Zimaraki was my favourite dinner place - excellent home made pasta, pizza and salads.

You’ll find lots of cute shops and lovely restaurants with delicious, authentic food in Chora. Transport to the port, nearby beaches is straightforward, but be aware that fir most of the good ones you’ll need to take a boat from Angali or Karavostasi (the port). The landscape is classic Cycladic, rocky and beautiful. The locals are the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. Very authentic, plenty of tourists at high season but somehow not a ‘touristy’ island.

The pool area is a perfect paradise to relax at after exploring the island, you can then wander into the lovely Chora in 5 minutes for food and to look around. You can see the church of Panagia from the hotel and it looks amazing at night (would also recommend walking up there for sunset).
The staff were so helpful our whole stay and especially on the last day when our ferry was delayed, they kept checking for us and rearranged our transfer to the port whilst letting us just relax by the pool. We’d definitely stay here again we loved it.
I was met at the Port by a driver who took me to the Apartment(15 min. drive)which is just outside the main town and given keys info. etc.
At end of stay he picked me up and drove me back to Port for Ferry. The Apt is run by a Hotel near Port but Apt. has no Reception.Rooms were new and clean Bungalows with spacious Terraces outside.
Although Apt. feels isolated off main road with no other people but actually quite a short walk(15 mins.)to Bus Station and Town, which is lovely, with lots of Restaurants, cafes and shops.
I've been to Greece maybe 15 times in the last 25 years and this was my second stay in polikandia. It is by far the best hotel I've stayed in in Greece and will return next year. Five star service and lots of lovely little touches like cheese and grapes with your wine, jacuzzi in the pool, amazing gardens, great food and towels for pool and beach. My 13 year old son also loved it and is already talking about going back next year. Thank you all for a very special holiday.
Wow!!! What a find!!
Folegandros is the most amazing island. Looks stunning, not overrun like many of the other islands, everybody so helpful and friendly. Just how Greek islands used to be. Food options were amazing too. We stayed at the Antheia Hotel. What an amazing place. The host Lily was exceptional. The rooms were really nice. The hotel was really well located. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Hotel Antheia to anybody wishing to visit Folegandros
The Hotel with one of the best views on the Island, we loved our stay , Room was very good larger than we were expecting and comfortable with plenty outdoor space .The whole place was always spotlessly clean , Yanis and his team do a great job in making sure that guests are happy and comfortable . Nice breakfast , but limited choice ( OK if your only staying 2 nights ) Great swimming pool. A good base from which to explore the island.
The room was absolutely beautiful and had a terrace with the most stunning view of sunset. We appreciated the comfortable lounge area, terrace, kitchenette, spacious bathroom and korres amenities :) Pool was relaxing with comfortable loungers and tasteful furnishings. The owners and staff were lovely. Highly recommend Aeri for a stay in Chora Folegandros!
Amazing, cute and intimate hotel. Absolutely perfect. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Lovely, super-friendly husband and wife hosts. Totally authentic. Great homemade breakfast. Beer, wine, water and soft drinks available any time. 5 min walk to Chora town, which is awesome. Excellent pool area with super views of town.
The location 3 minutes walk to the center of chota, the view of the balcony as you can watch the horizon of aegean sea alongside with a panoramic view of the chora, rooms are like personal appartments not hotel rooms and of course the hospitality of the hosts is exceptional!
The hotel is near to the center of Chora and the bus station. The rooms are really comfortable, quiet, well equipped and clean. The pool area is an amazing place to relax. Mr Dimitris is always there to help you with useful tips. I can't wait to visit again!!
We loved the easy going feel of this hotel. The family who run it and just beautiful, friendly helpful nothing is to much trouble provided transport to an from the ferry. Our room lovely Great a/c and the location perfect short walk to the bus and the Kora.
Very well maintained clean and comfortable hotel. Room had a fridge kettle hairdryer and outside chairs. Owner picked me up from port and dropped me off. Close to chora and bus stop. Very peaceful with small pool area with wonderful views and sun beds
This hotel practices false advertising. Its a lie about the adults only hotel . . . nice pool and pool surrounds. The Barman was very nice; very accommodating and he made very good cocktails! It was the best part of the experience for me.
The room was really clean. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The hotel is very close to the center of Chora, about 3-5minutes walking. The owner has a small quiet dog that made our stay there more awesome!
Wonderful stay. The hotel is outside the town, but easy walk 5 mins. Exceptional views. Pick up and drop off at the port. Irene helped us rent a car to explore the island. Nice beds, AC worked great
I liked everything about the property! great location, clean, comfortable and the owners are very attentive to the guests!! a very nice family run hotel that I would highly recommend!!
The hotel is 5 min walk to the center of Chora, on the top of a slope so the view we got of the city, he church and the path to it from the balcony was amazing.
