There are a few things I can list about Herdmanston Lodge. We enjoyed the comfy bedroom and amenities, including the balcony view which was very scenic. The complimentary breakfast was well made every morning. And the Wi-Fi was excellent and fast. Room service checked on us every once in a while asking if we needed anything. The furniture and decorations in the bedroom were nice. The chairs were comfortable, and the bed and pillows were soft. My only complaint would be the sheets weren't very warm.

Windjammer was everything I could ever have wanted in a hotel. Beautifully picturesque, quiet, clean, comfortable, it had all of that. But most importantly, the staff were just amazing. I've never felt as much like family as we did at the windjammer - every single person went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and at home, and I saw them doing that for all the other guests as well. I'm not normally one to rate a place solely on the attitude of the staff, but I can tell you point blank that our trip would have been mediocre if we'd stayed at any other hotel, but *because of the windjammer staff* it was one of the best trips of my life.

This is home for us so I cannot give an unbiased review.
This is home for us so I cannot give an unbiased review. Definitely a need for improvement in cleanliness especially in open air markets. Private businesses are improving efficiency, government facilities need to step up especially in anticipation of increasing client/opportunities. People are still friendly mostly. Rental cars available if you have the courage to drive.

My last visit to GT was in 1984.
My last visit to GT was in 1984. So far I love it & what i have seen lots of improvement. The streets are so conjested with cars, some traffic lights on the streets would be nice. The van drivers are driving too fast on the road this is the so many people lives are loss. I was very disappointed to see such a mess at the Sea Walls with the garbage, they need to have garbage containers along there, employ people to clean up the mess instead of leaving it there, it takes away the beauty of our beautiful Guyana.

I like the variety of foods available until late evening.
I like the variety of foods available until late evening. Good shopping for local arts and craft. The traffic is hectic during the day with congestion. It is better to sight see in the afternoon when it is cooler.

Georgetown is a beautiful and colourfull city, you have to have in mind always that the security level is pretty low, so be aware and take care. If you can travel in groups and don't go out at night alone. The people, in general, are nice and forthcoming, but sadly enough for most very poor. Don't flash any items of value. If you get into a taxi my best advice is to hang on and buckle up - that traffic is indeed entertaining if you like rollercoasters and such.

A shabby, run down place of open, stinking drains and the constant need to watch who's approaching you or coming up from behind.
Locals are very friendly and helpful and are often most upset that a minority of meth heads etc have damaged the country's reputation.
Robert is extremely welcoming. When we arrived, he took us on a tour of the Georgetown highlights and had been kind enough to provide some water in the room. The location is convenient roughly only a 10 minute walk to Bourda Market and 5-10 minute walk to the Botanical Gardens which offers a beautiful scene of the different flora of Guyana. Robert is also very helpful in arranging access to the room if you are coming in late, providing local transport contacts and accommodating any requests during the stay which was much appreciated!
The personnel is friendly and accommodating, while the accommodations themselves are extremely cozy. This establishment consists of a modest 5 rooms, one located on the first floor and the remaining four situated upstairs. The rooms on the upper level are spacious, peaceful, and boast an impressive internet speed of 600 Mbs. Although breakfast may consist solely of coffee, milk, bread, and eggs, it is still satisfactory given the fact that this is not a hotel.
the property was perfectly clean and very good shape, big bed rooms and really comfortables beds, nice and beautiful closets, the living room and the kitchen have a lot of space and the appliances are in new conductions. The attention is the best and you will feel welcome like a home. this will be for sure my place any time I go to Guyana, thank you so much to Roshana for everything. my family and I spent e great time.
I loved the "homey" mood of this bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and with enough options to change almost every day, the room was perfectly cleaned and the staff very helpful and friendly, special thanks to Amina, Sadia, and "cook up" who has been precious allies for having a nice stay in Georgetown. I stayed almost three weeks and enjoyed a lot !
The staff were excellent, so friendly and attentive in a relaxed atmosphere. The food, with many traditional options was also very good and we ate several times in the hotel. A short taxi ride takes you anywhere in Georgetown and I would definitely re-book here when we have to return to Guyana.
I paid online through an online booking, when I arrived at the hotel, I was charged more which I tried to explain this but the lady was not listening, the room was filthy, the bathroom, fridge and floor was dusty and unclean. I would not recommend this place
Service of friendly staff, amenities, comfort and very helpfull! The cleanist hotel i have ever seen in Georgetown! Very good!
Rooms are very spacious and bed is heavenly ! I will be back soon! This will be my #1👑👑🇬🇾🍾🥂 hotel in Georgetown
Great Wifi in the hotel. It’s restaurant is really good but a little bit pricey. Room was spacious with good AC. They can arrange airport shuttle with Alroy Solomon who’s a really nice guy, he also gave us the tour around the city
This is a small boutique hotel close to the center of town. Rooms are very comfortable with excellent tv options, nice bed and good walk-in shower. Rooms and balconies are secure, and everything worked well.
