Staff was absolutely amazing, they were caring, attencious and sincere. The hotel itself is a gem, its an older hotel but delivers a lot for its two stars. A lot of croatian families were there, atmosphere was very nice and cool. It is not a five star hotel or pretends to be it, but serves good food and lodgind for a fair price in a very nice location. So I have to reccomend it!

Stari grad is a beautiful place and the people are very friendly.Lots of very nice bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of little streets to explore.,Public transport is cheap so its easy to check out other places not too far away.We found Taxis to be expensive so try and negotiate a price before you get in.A very relaxing, laid back place, just right for a chilled out holiday.

We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried.
We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried. The food was delicious, the people were incredibly friendly, and the architecture was beautiful.
If I can recommend anything, it is to visit Blue Doors. The food was amazing and all the Owners family recipes, the wine we selected (which I believe was the house white) was made next door to the restaurant. All the staff were lovely and we chose this location for our final meal of our holiday.

A peaceful and beautiful port, quieter then Hvar, but still with excellent restaurants, nice landmarks and a lovely feel to it.
Melting Spot for coffee.
You can't get any day boats to the smaller islands from Start Grad- you (unless you pay to do a private excursion) so you have to travel back to Hvar to do this.

I really love this place!
I really love this place! I've been there three times (first time 12 years ago). But I have to admit that prices in restaurants have gone mad this year. I understand inflation and everything, but I've been to Rome before visiting Stari Grad and food in Roman restaurants was 20-40 percent cheaper! Stari Grad (and Hvar island as a whole) is gorgeous! But it's not Rome! And I'm pretty sure it's not only my opinion because I was there a year ago at the same time (mid June), and this year restaurants were half-empty and I saw a lot of people walking away after looking at the prices on the menu.

It's very quiet and small.
It's very quiet and small. A good breakaway from the many tourists! However transport is a challenge. Only taxis available and a bus. Taxis charge €50 to get to Hvar town where all the boat tours etc depart from. So you either need your own car or you need to catch the bus. In June the bus only ran at certain times which limited transport options from Hvar back to Stari Grad to exorbitant taxi prices! Information is not shared easily. One has to hunt everywhere for information. I do not believe I will be returning to Hvar. The boat tours are also over-priced for what you get.
Warm reception from the friendly staff, especially the manageress who took care to help our boisterous 7 year old grandson feel at home. Breakfasts a highlight ,with table service. Fruit, plates of cold meats and cheese with fresh pancakes, apple pancakes, cherry cakes etc every day.
Lovely sea swimming in rocky coves nearby, and a beautiful pool.15 minutes walk along the coastal path takes you to charming and ancient Stari Grad.
This is a delightful small hotel -just 8 rooms -and we hope to return.
8 star rating from the grandchildren!
The apartment was clean and well equipped, the outside terrace is in shade and adds to overall comfort. Additional bed (sofa) for the kids was very comfortable too. Position in quiet area, which we liked. Stari Grad is well worth staying and it has its own charm and beauty, in different way than island's most visited town of Hvar which is always more crowded.
The host is very friendly and helpful, welcome drinks and gave us a lot of insider tips. We'll be back for sure.
This has been the BEST place we have been in Croatia by far. The apartment is gorgeous and just 5 minutes walking from the center. It has everything you need: a kitchen with all the utilities, a washing machine, dining table, sofa, TV, a balcony with awesome views, etc
But the best of this location is definitely the hosts. They are extremely helpful and make you feel like home. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Hvar and we’re sure we’ll come back.
beautiful stone house in the centre. very cosy , furnished so cute and comfortable.. equipped with everything you might need. nice garden to have a first morning coffee and breakfast. you get out of the house and you have everything you need. location is perfect because stari grad is close to all nice beaches. the greatest thing is you have reserved parking lot nearby so you don’t have to look for a parking space all the time. all in all perfect:)
A beautiful idyllic appartment in the centre of Stari Grad with a lovely patio where we had our breakfast every morning to start our day. Amela is the prefect host; she helped us with our luggage and gave us some suggestions where to eat and where to go. You can visit Hvar city within 20 min by car passing some beautiful bays which are worth stopping for.
Accommodation is in great location, directly in historical city center and super close to St. Stephan church. Owner is really nice and super helpful and hospitable. The beds were so comfortable. We also enjoyed the small terrace on the top of the building which also contributed to great experience in Stari Grad town so we definitely recommend.
Lovely hotel, great interiors and facilities. Great location, short walk from town of Stari grad. Free breakfast is a great bonus. Good system of lunch and dinner budget included in the price. although this wasn’t mentioned when we’d booked our trip. We thought dinner would be free everyday. It was still great value for money.
The location was perfect. Marina, our host, was charming, friendly and very helpful. Great having the breakfast downstairs in the cafe, obligingly prepared by Marina at any time we chose. The apartment was beautiful and gave us more room than a hotel.
It was our first visit to Hvar and we loved everything about it.
Me and my mate stayed here as it was a bit different to Hvar but still wanted to go out for the nightlife. Highly recommend, town itself is beaut, food and atmosphere is great! As far as the hotel, I rate it 10/10. Deano the owner is also a massive help, lovely bloke.. top bloke

The location of the apartment was very good and the space in it was huge with everything very well arranged. The parking space was a plus and the owner of the apartment was very kind. I would love to stay at this place again in my next trip to Hvar. Hvala man
Beautiful spacious modern room with nice view from balcony. Free parking. Friendly host. Five minute gradual downhill walk to town harbor. Plenty of restaurants in town. It’s a 30 minute drive to the town of Hvar on the southern side of the island.
Pool was so fun for the kids - like a water park with no lines. Food was good, staff very willing to help. Spotless clean, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Walking path from hotel to Stari grad was lovely plus water trampoline thing was a lot of fun.
Great hotel, in a quiet location near the port. Transfer to Stari Grad was very handy and gave us lots of options to eat at night. Perfect for a week of relaxing away from everything.
I loved the hotel’s flex half board plan. The food and drinks are great and reasonably priced. The room was cleaned regularly and the pool and beach area had lots of sun beds.
