Our room was fantastic. Being on the ground floor we could just walk out and go straight into the pool. Amazing views from the pool area and restaurant was just a few steps down from there. My husband was able to snorkel straight from the beach from our hotel.

Amed Cafe & Hotel Kebun Wayan, hotel in Amed

Steps from a peaceful beachfront, Amed Cafe provides Balinese-style rooms set in tropical landscapes.

The views are fantastic. There's some stairs to climb to get to the room, but it's worth it. The room itself is also massive, with a huge balcony with a hammock, and a little fridge on the balcony. There's a large swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers, and the included breakfast right on the beach is great. The layout of the room with the little desk with coffee and water is also very nice.

This was one of our most awaited stays of the trip, and it didn't disappoint. Each of the rooms are unique with features like a patio or an outdoor shower. The property itself is so beautiful. Nice yoga classes. Nice restaurant. And we had a view of the volcano from our room, and that never got old :)

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area.

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area. Good restaurants and bars. The sea is calm and lovely to swim in. I had a great time in Amed. Rimba and Galanga were my favourite places to eat. There is live music each evening in various bars. Taxi scooters are a cheap and easy way to get to places, and readily available. The negative thing about Amed is the litter on the beach.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali. Quiet, beautiful snorkeling, amazing nature and rice fields but still a simple laid back vibe. Lots of simple affordable warungs but also new coffee places (that serve meals throughout the day) with Scandinavian look For snorkeling, we liked Jemeluk best, since it has beautiful corals and fish and a quiet sea. Riding a scooter is easy and the roads are good.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food. If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here. It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid. It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way. There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores. If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Brilliant place to learn to dive (61 dive shops), highly recommended Ocean Dive League very experienced, very supportive 5 stars definitely. Can do awesome dives, 2 shipwrecks, coral garden etc. If you love luxury over character I don’t think this is a place for you. Easy to do day trips and get a personal taxi driver. Food was good. Lots of fish and eggs! People extremely kind, helpful, accommodating. Not really a place to go clothes shopping. Definitely would go there again. Only negative thing, so much rubbish everywhere, on the beach, in the water, on the streets. Saw a washed up dead pig on the beach!!

We enjoyed a lot the accommodation in Rinjani villa. The views are amazing, the terrace is very big and nice. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, the smoothie bowl and the balinease pancakes are delicious. Even if the location seems to be remote, you have everything you need here - filtered water, soda/beer in the fridge. There are also 2 good restaurants near the villa for lunch/dinner. It's very peaceful and you can hear only the waves. In my opinion, this is one of the best accommodations in Amed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bhuana villas and would totally reccoment them. The place is beautiful (villas quite big, private and well decorated), with a big swimming pool and walking distance from a great snorkeling spot (perfect in case you don't drive a scooter). Staff is amazing, and offers services like scooter rental, transportation etc. for honest prices and with genuine care. We'll definitely stay here again when back to Bali - Amed was our favourite part!

Good selection for breakfast, fresh juice was nicest we have had in Bali. Pool was good size and was over looking the beach. You can access the beach from the hotel. There was also a pool table at the bar area. The hotel also kindly organised a scooter rental for us. The morning of check out we waited on the shuttle to Amed port for Gili as arranged via our boat company and when that did not arrive the hotel kindly brought us to the port.

It was so far the most comfortable bed and pillow I slept in Bali. The place is close to the beach but not close to the road so we enjoyed quiet nights and privacy. It’s clean and had working space which was very convenient. Wi-fi was ok and place was cleaned every day. You can walk 10 min through the beach to many restaurants and don’t miss “Good stuff” restaurant, they have amazing coffee and food.

Absolute paradise. So clean and comfortable with the most unreal views. We had hot tub which was also very clean, loved using watching the day go from day to night. Food and drinks also lovely (expected hotel prices after reading reviews and well because... we were in a hotel!) Shuttle that takes you up to the lodge is timely We stayed in 6 locations in Bali and this was both of our favourite places

Small and cosy beach front hotel. Enjoyed swimming directly outfront of hotel. (Not great for snorkelling) but was super easy to arrange a boat and guide to take us snorkelling at 3 other locations. Spectacular view of Mount Agung and morning sunrise. Hotel restaurant offered an amazing variety of food, probably best menu i have seen in a Bali hotel. Every meal was delicious and reasonably priced.

I had an ocean view room next to the ocean view pool for very cheap. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They rented me a scooter for $4/day. It was a perfect location for snorkeling with good sites in walking distance and a short drive. And it's where the Perama Bus drops you off from south in Bali, no taxi necessary. One of my favorite places I've ever stayed.

Drinks and food at very reasonable prices. Recommend highly for a relaxed Amed holiday.
