The relaxing atmosphere plus the fact that I could make myself a cup of tea at any time and sit outside and take in the amazing views. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. Bathroom was lovely and spotless. Breakfast was help yourselves ( European style) with everything provided you could possibly want, plenty of fruit, cereal, yogurts etc.

The family run An Portan Guesthouse is situated in Dún Chaoin on the edge of the Dingle Peninsula. The rooms at An Portan are all at ground floor level and are arranged in a courtyard style.

Our host Beatrice was wonderful, full of warmth and chat. The views from the front of the house over Ventry beach are superb. The breakfast is very good and you really feel as though you are experiencing the host's home. The shared dining table allows for morning chats over breakfast with the other guests which is always enjoyable.

The external appearance of the farmhouse itself was lovely as was the rustic interior especially the wooden floorboards (although creaky!) The rooms were well organised with comfortable beds and linen. The breakfast options were generous and the kitchen well provisioned. The internet was amazing considering the remote location and the host was very welcoming
