Having the whole apartment to ourselves was wonderful. We were able to make a home cooked dinner and relax. It is a 10-15 min walk to town which has a few pubs but the walk back is all up hill.

Spacious, well appointed, spotless room and bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Incredible value for money. Far superior to many other establishments costing twice as much. Very friendly, informative host. Delightful village. Absolutely fabulous.

Kilcar is a very small town and as such there is nowhere to eat a main meal at night. It has an interesting local weaving mill that welcomes visitors to both shop and observe the products being made. The residents of Kilcar have created a very pretty community garden, right beside Kilcar Lodge.
Kilcar is well positioned for visiting the spectacular Slieve League sea cliffs. It's an easy day trip to the beautiful Glengesh Pass (Ghleann Gheis), the white sands of Maghera Strand and Assarancagh Waterfall.

The scenery is fabulous and the beaches are stunning. If you like hill walking it is very suitable. The only drawback is the roads are very narrow so extra care is needed. The view from Muckross Head is amazing and a must on your stay in Kilcar.. It is not far from the secret waterfall and the fishing port of Killybegs where you can take a boat trip to the Slieve League cliffs which are spectacular. It is also near the picturesque Teelin harbour.

The reception was Fairly warm and at the very outset we mentioned to the lady that we had no option to book two children and two adults and So we had booked 3 adults instead. The lady asked if we could manage in accommodation she had and we said yes because the decision to stay in Kilcar was a last moment one and we really didn’t have options.
After we came back and I reviewed the experience as “good”, the hostess sent me a rather rude message - About how she had accommodated the kids!! I was totally taken aback at such behavior. Sorry but I won’t be able to recommend This place to anyone anymore!!

Small village with pub, good local shop Unfortunately no restaurant or cafe in town. Good spot for base for exploring. Kilcar Lodge surprised us at how friendly it was and breakfast is recommended. Lots of walking and climbing in area or fishing if you’re that way inclined also excellent for sea kayaking with lots of beaches and coves.
Really is a little hidden gem.

Kilcar was right in the village, but it was always very quiet. Parking was on the property, breakfast was hot and delicious. Our hostess was great to chat with & very helpful in suggesting attractions to see. Would go back & recommend to others!
The location is fantastic, on the edge of the pretty village of Kilcar and right beside a rocky mountain salmon & trout river with adjacent lovely community garden along the rocky mountain salmon & trout river, free for all to visit and also to sit down and read and rest in. The B&B rooms were very clean, large and with comfy beds. The hostess was very friendly and engaging and is a credit to Donegal.
Teresa was a lovely host, could not have asked for any nicer of an experience/stay at the Kilcar Lodge. Teresa was incredibly kind and welcoming and provided excellent service and recommendations for attractions in the area. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay at a B&B in Co Donegal! Great location with access to different attractions in the area via just a short drive.
This B&B is in an excellent location /convenient to the town. Beautiful house & so clean and the room was large with lovely en suite. Breakfast was lovely & Teresa the host provided me with GF breakfast. We were attending a wedding & she drove us to the venue. A lovely lady/host and we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kilcar Lodge B&B. Excellent all round.
The location is great with stunning views. A Traditional Irish thatched cottage located exactly on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is close to Slieve League, Killibegs, Kilcar and Muckross Head and several beautiful beaches. We enjoyed our homemade scones from Ann on our arrival. We definitely will be back visiting Ann and her wonderful cottage.
Friendly welcome and easy check-in. Breakfast was delicious. I noticed the others guests enjoying their coffee to the last drop. Location could not be more convenient to natural attractions such as Slieve League cliffs, shopping at Studio Donegal, and taking in a local performance at the community center. I loved it here.
We had a wonderful time staying at Kilcar Lodge! Really nice and cosy rooms with the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for a long time!! The host is so friendly and made us a huge vegetarian breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect, even though it’s located directly on the road it’s quiet at night!
Theresa made a lovely breakfast. The room was very comfortable and clean and our host was so gracious. We schedule our visit to coincide with Traditional music performed at John Joe's, a pub only 100 meters from the Lodge. It was an amazing experience (John Joe and his family were very welcoming!)
Such a lovely home in a very friendly little town. The room was clean and had a nice view. The breakfast was delicious. Theresa was so sweet and was an excellent host! John Joe’s pub, just down the road, was a great place to end the night with a drink. Highly recommend staying at Kilcar lodge!
Kilcar Lodge was a great place to stay. Would come back in a heart beat. Hostess is a very nice woman, keeps the place spotless! And exactly one minute from the property is Kilcar House, where you can get a good Guinness! Overall a very nice stay, wish we could have stayed longer!
This was the cleanest property that we have stayed at. But, what we didn’t expect was the friendliness and generosity of the people in Kilcar. Our host was no exception! Loved it!
We found a great traditional Irish music session at a pub right around the corner, when we had feared that we would have to travel Donegal for a session. And the room was great!
The breakfast was freshly cooked using good quality ingredients. The location was familiar to us and Kilcar Lodge is within easy striking distance of the village’s facilities.
Kilcar Lodge was spotlessly clean and very well presented. the breakfast was very tasty. Theresa, the host was very friendly. The village was just what we were looking for.
We are a group of 5 friends travelling around Ireland, the Kilcar Lodge surprised us great rooms, toilets, very well cleaned, the beds and lines amazing!
