The owners were extremely hospitable and went out of their way to make sure my brother and I were comfortable. I would recommend Hawthorne to anybody looking for a comfy B&B on their way to the south or west of Ireland

Friendly, helpful hosts, comfortable rooms, economical, but best thing was the location. Literally right under the Rock of Cashel and next to Hore Abby, both places we wanted to visit. And close to town for restaurants, etc.

Very clean and quiet and plenty of space to park. Helpful, friendly host. Location easy to find from main route and only a few minutes to town of Thurles. Ate at a lovely pub and used the ATM in town. Easy to park and walk around town. Host even let us play her piano.

Unfortunately you have to travel a lot to find places of interest. Sorry but places advertised as open like the Fairy Fort farm are not open to families anymore, only guests staying in accommodation. Holy Cross maybe of more interest to holy people only. Was expecting more historical interest, TBH. Forgettable place. Only highlight was Rock of Cashel, that I do recommend.KateIreland - 10Scored 10

My mother is from Thurles. So coming back to her hometown was exciting and fun. Though we were with cousins from this area we did get to walk around town a little. Town is full of activity. The Hayes is beautiful and conveniently centered in the town square, with a nice private car lot behind the building. The receptionist was friendly and well-prepared for our arrival, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was large with great amenities. Great location, just in the city center, with lots of shops and restaurants around. The hotel is about 5 min walking or less from the Leisure Center, where you can enjoy everything for free if you are a guest at the hotel. Unfortunately, the health suite and sauna were all closed due to covid, but we enjoyed the swimming pool and it was really nice.ColinIreland

The staff are exceptional and even though there was also a wedding taking place and we didn't even realise until we seen the Bride. The staff were friendly and chatty and the bar food was delicious. I was surprised and grateful with the lengths the Breakfast staff went to with removing and sanitising the tables after use. Would we return again.........you can be sure of it!
