A nice and relaxing traditional semi-desert town with the friendliest people (and cows) you can meet. You can just wander around and enjoy. Nobody would harass you, just friendly people greeting you, young and old, and friendly cows, of course.
You can visit the town's attractions or simply sit and enjoy observing the vibrant local life.

The Jaisalmer fort is located on top of a rock.
The Jaisalmer fort is located on top of a rock. Inside the fort there is old town. There are private houses inside the fort. Walking around the small small lanes is very interesting. But be very careful about the local people. They will try to cheat you somehow or the other. Even if you take a guide, the guide will make you pay double the money because they get commission whatever you spend during your visit.
I have seen people sitting next to me in a terrace, paying INR 500 for two coffees and I paid the same coffees INR 140. Because their guide told the waiter to take INR 500 from them. It was so sad… people of Rajastan specially guides and drivers and shop owners are looting foreigners.

Jaisalmer was definitely more touristy, then the other cities we had visited before. In a way, this made our short stay there more comfortable. People on the street were friendly and greeted us, without trying to sell us anything.

A very good combination of History, Culture, Gastronomic delights and contemporary sightseeing. I recommend the Jaisalmer Fort Or the Golden Fort (has historical artefacts), the War Museum, Gadisar Lake and the surroundings, Folklore Museum and Desert Cultural Centre (set up Shri Nand Kishore Sharma, 94 years old, in1983. The Desert Cultural Centre also hosts a puppet show (two showings a day) in the evening.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Royal Villa Jaisalmer and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience.
An unforgettable stay at Royal Villa Jaisalmer. Superb location, excellent food, spotless rooms, and friendly staff. Owner Mr. Islam Khan's dedication and personal attention were commendable. Delicious dining at Zaffran Restaurant & Cafe. The unforgettable camping experience at Royal Villa Desert Camp. Highly recommend this hotel in Jaisalmer.
I went there in off-season so the swimming pool was under maintenance. It was like that in the whole Jaisalmer city so I didn't blame them (but they promised it'll be good in 1 month). The staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the rooftop restaurant was pretty nice. I stayed in the junior suite and it was nice, clean, and affordable. I walked to the fort and the lake. They're not far from the hotel. In general, the stay was pleasant.
If you are looking for a good hotel, with awesome ambience, good food and well behaved hotel staff, then Heritage house in Jaisalmer is the place for you, here you will get awesome atmosphere, well decorated rooms with Rajasthani feelings, all the staffs here are very disciplined, they are always ready to make you feel special, during our stay, we also experienced the same , with a special mention of one of their staff named Daud Khan.
Rooms are neat and clean even the interior looks pretty. Hotel is very well decorated as well as the location is central. The owner is humble and generous. The staff is attentive and respectful. Our trip to Jaisalmer felt safe and became memorable because of the hotel. Their packages for desert camps are considerably fair with excellent service. Their behaviour made us feel they are our family relatives and not strangers.
Prince is by far the most humble host I met in my life. He offered me often some Chai without extra charge and also offered me many times food in the evening.
The price is really good, I was shocked how cheap it was. Of course you don't get a room on a 5 Star hotel level. Nevertheless, the price is still really really low for this amazing service you get.
If you ever plan to visit Jaisalmer, go to Little Prince!
Enjoyed our 3 day stay in hotel Grand Heritage near railway station Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Staff is very well behaved and courteous. Their food menu has lots of options and breakfast is super delicious. Hotel is located very close to railway station and walking distance from the main tourist attractions. Beautiful view of Jaisalmer fort from the terrace of the hotel. Overall an excellent experience.
It’s a superb place.
Loved the Management.
Iv been to other desert camps and this is out the world.
The food was very good. Quality & variety of food was also very good.
They had pickup and drop service from the airport. Ramzan Bhai has been a superb Driver for us. 5 start for him as well.
We did Jeep safari & camel ride. Humble ppl.
Overall incredible experience. Must visit place in Jaisalmer.
Great place! We were welcomed at the hotel in the early hours of the morning since our bus dropped us off very early in Jaisalmer, and they gave us a room. We booked the desert experience with them and it turned out to be very enjoyable. Plus, it's very close to the temple. We walked everywhere. If we come back to the city, we'll stay there again.
Nestled in the heart of the Jaisalmer city, this hotel is a treasure for those seeking a budget-friendly stay without compromising on experience. The rooftop cafe is a highlight, offering breathtaking sunset views that promise to make every evening memorable. Variety of cuisines available is equally impressive. Truly, this hotel is a gem.
I LOVE this hotel! Just stayed there for the 2nd time. Love the decorated room, friendly & helpful staff & the rooftop restaurant is great with an amazing view of the fort. They can also arrange to go on a desert/camel safari which I highly recommend. Do stay at Shahi Palace when in Jaisalmer.
Very bad hotel facility and it's owner very bad and egoistic person. Owner ko sirf rupees matlab he yaha bath Tub bhi room me nahi hota. Cleaning 10% hoga Sirf name bada Darsan chhota he. I will not suggest any one go to hotel Jaisalmer Boutique. Online booking k bad bhi fees jyada liaya.
It was a wonderful experience staying with Amazing jaisalmer.
1.Location: It was located away from the hustle & bustle of city which ensured low noise. Plus the view from window of the fort is amazing.
2. Hospitality: All the members of the hotel made us feel homely.
Very Cooperative staff, awesome rooms, great service and management.Especially, yunus in Hotel Staff management really good.
Best hotel in Jaisalmer to stay .They also have a special package for Desert Safari in very much affordable rates.Must Check in.

And service is also very good thanks to Garh villa team for beautiful trip
The rooms were very nice and the owner of the hotel was very kind and helped us with everything. He organised for us a dinner in the desert that was the highlight of our stay in Jaisalmer. We couldn’t recommend this place more!
Must visit this property if you are planning to visit Jaisalmer. They provide Desert Safari packages at reasonable rates and hotel rates are also reasonable. Great view from the rooftop resto. Great work done by the team.
I had a very good trip to Jaisalmer this time and the hotel I had booked, Sum Dunes Desert Safari Camp, is very good, family like, Mr. Dilawar took very good care of us, the food is very
It's clean and works for a decent one night stay. Nothing beyond that. Its more like a business hotel and didn't have any Jaisalmer feel to it. Very plain and nothing interesting.
