The guesthouse was easy to get to and along our planned route. Breakfast was quite good with good selections. Nice bucolic setting.

This property was thoughtfully laid out for families! We loved that this was family operated! It was wonderful that they had the pull out bed already laid out for us! That was a treat!

Centre of Fludir has grocery store, a gas station and 2 hotels - all four located very closely across the street. So we could get full tank of gadoline to drive further and wr had really good breakfast in hotel, but for the evening got some food in the shop. We didn't spend much time there and sayed only for one night driving through from one destination point to anothes as we dind't find any interesting object to visit in this town.

Fludir is a small village/town along Golden Circle. Perfect to break up your road trip to take more time to explore more of the area. Our kids loved the Fludir park with giant bouncy pad and zip line. We loved the delicious, authentic Ethiopian restaurant -Minilik, just a few minutes drive from the B&B.

I have stayed in Fludir several times- there really isn't anything to see here (aside from the Secret Lagoon which is great)! Dining options are also pretty limited.
I usually stay to be close to other things I want to see- it is close enough to KEF and Reykjavik to make both easy drives and also very close to the Golden Circle and Gulfoss to get an early start and beat the hoards of visitors coming in from the city for the day.

The biggest draw to Fludir is The Secret Lagoon, a geothermal pool fed by a spouting geyser. The facilities are fairly new and clean... and the lagoon itself is "to die for," very warm and relaxing.
I would highly recommend staying at the small guesthouse located on site - Garður Stay Inn. There is a kitchen, living room/lounge area, information table and a good sized shared bathroom, but only 4 rooms, so in-season it will fill up fast. We visited just past peak season, so had the guesthouse to ourselves!
My only "negative" would be the lack of open restaurants in the area.

We had limited time in Fludir.
We had limited time in Fludir. We did the tourist thing at the Tomato Farm and had a delicious pricy meal, and picked up some groceries and fuel. It looked nice. The hotel restaurant was good and the Ethiopian Restaurant was being renovated and may be a good alternative in the future. The town is well located to be a base for which to explore many standard tourist activities and even more challenging adventures for those that seek more.
Perfect for us! 10 minutes outside of Fludir was just right. Close to all the Golden Circle sites.. and Haifoss and Landmannalaugar. Four cute little cottages (separated by a grass hill for privacy. The only sound you heard were the birds. The cottage had everything we needed. The response to questions, and going above and beyond, was incredible! Private hot tub was nicely placed. Basic, clean, comfortable.. This was a great first stay in Iceland.
Thank you for everything Fjola!
Wonderful and well equipped cottage in a wild and remote location. Great for aurora observation (if lucky!).
Clean and wide and panoramic.
Strategic location to visit Fludir and golden circle remaing away from crowds and pullmanns.
Very helpful staff (we had a small problem with the car). Unfortunately we had no time for the hot tube (biggest regret of the whole holiday!!).
Breakfast was really good, great choice of foods - it was served in hotel over the road. We could park our car right beside our room. The room was good size and there was a water boiling kettle with instant coffee and few tea bags. Food store was 1 min away and gas station near hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was warm, despite the small electric heater was broken.
This is wonderful place to stay for a night. Top of the tower observatory is perfect idea. Perfect to relax and watch the panoramic and sky views. Either day or night. We were lucky to get aurora (norther lights) off the bucket list. Amazing! Thank you for establishing this hotel and enabling us, tourists, to experience these views and exclusive accommodation.
Not too far from Reykjavik and only a 10 drive to Secret Lagoon, the property was great for some seclusion and privacy in natural surroundings. Even though there's a twin cottage a few steps away, we only saw our neighbors when they were departing in the morning.
- breakfast was delicious
- comfiest beds we stayed in and best night’s sleep
- 2 bathrooms for 5 rooms was really helpful
- the town is very cute and well situated
- grocery store next door and gas station on property
- discount for secret lagoon
Excellent value b&b with great breakfast. We had 3 rooms which were v comfortable. The property is 5 mins drive out of Fludir. There are good cooking facilities and a living room. Long distance views over farmland.
The cottage was very nice and well equipped. We were welcomed by a very sweet and playful dog, which was a good start !
The cottage is very well situated to explore the Golden Circle and the Secret Lagoon.
Hotel was fabulous, very clean, good sized room. Just walk through the bathroom and out to garden with two hot tubs, bliss! Staff very friendly. Good location, along the golden circle.
The location was great (and convenient for a stop by the secret lagoon next morning before the tour bus). The breakfast was great- included bread, yogurt, milk, jams, cereal, etc.
Location was very close to Secret Lagoon. Close to everything as Fludir is rather small. Played a round of Disc Golf at the 9 hole course, within walking distance of hotel.
