The setting and accommodations were absolutely stunning! The restaurant was excellent, great value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful. The main house (castle) has a lift so that was a pleasant surprise. There were so many leisure facilities that we were unable to use due to our short stay. Highly recommend at least a few days there if you enjoy nature in an exclusive setting. Due to the remote setting, you will need a car to do anything outside of the property. Breakfast was abundant and varied, spread throughout the incredible rooms of the first floor.

Castle Altomonte is an exceptionally well-maintained property with breathtaking views and friendly local business owners and local folk. The multi-tasking, efficient and knowledgeable Concierge Giuseppe welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief tour of the public areas of the castle. The Castle’s owner once served the nation in several governmental divisions and is charming, if you can converse with him in Italian.
If you are not yet handy with Google translate, familiarize yourself with ‘voice mode’ and you’ll do just fine here.

The host was very welcoming and the room was big. There was a safe space to keep my bicycle inside the structure. Breakfast was abundant with home made cakes and several other choices. I loved the story about the name of the house and the little.museum inside! For dinner there are a couple of restaurants in the town centre, a short walk away.
