I live in Sasebo, been here for years, and I love it! It's a perfect balance between the city and the countryside, with everything you need, and all the wonderful sights to see, especially Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan's biggest theme parks. If you want a break from the big city and want to experience a smaller but very beautiful and diverse place, head to Sasebo.

Sasebo is a small town, I was made to feel welcome in the local restaurants and bars I went to. The city is in a beautiful location on the south-west coast of Kyushu and there is lots to do. I will go back.

We visited Sasebo with our son who was stationed at the US Navy base 10 years ago. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the base and some areas he frequented. Spent only a day and a half in the city.

It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel.
It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel. The hotel's location in the city is ideal with shops and restaurants all around. It is a buzzing, bustling city. Wish i had more time to explore the beautiful parks.
My family and I stayed at Okura for two nights while we visit huis twin Bosch park.
The location of the hotel is brilliant as it is next to train station, and also right next to the park.
There are a retail park next to hotel for casual dining, and there is a convenient store inside the girl too
The onsen is a key highlight! So big and wonderfully managed. Though it gets busy, everyone get personal space for a quiet bath.
Dining option in the hotel is nice too. We had a dinner buffet for a night. Food options is fair yet delicious.
The location was fantastic. Central to our needs. Many good restaurants in close by. The staff was very attentive to our needs and even showed up promptly to answer some questions. I loved the sauna and the whole room setup. It was winter time so the sauna was especially welcomed. The HVAC/heater was fantastic. This is an ideal room for couples and singles who want to get away. Close to JR Sasebo, the port, central business district, and restaurants. I will patronize Re Sort the next time I am back in Sasebo.
The breakfast buffet was superb and had probably 20-30 items to choose from plus eggs made to order and the Sasebo special lemon steak. The rooms are small but tidy, clean, and efficient. I travel to Sasebo frequently for work and plan to stay at Sunwest each time.
The hotel is possibly of 7 star category. The room is very large with excellent view of the harbour. The break fast was so large that we could not eat anything else whole day. The behavior of the staff are excellent.
The staff was courteous. The room was clean. Actually, for a business hotel, it was cleaner than usual. It looked as though it had been refurbished in the not too distant past.
This hotel is in a great central location. Rooms are tidy and clean. The breakfast was delicious and of course, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
