Perfectly located for enjoying Mdina without the crowds. The hotel was full of character. We particularly enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace with its far reaching views.

Absolutely amazing place with the best views across the island. There's so much history to see and experience and loads of choice for food. Definitely wander out of the main gate and over to Crystal Palace for the best Pastizzi, and Fontanella's on the city wall is a must.

Mdina is nice for a few hours but there’s not a lot to do if you have done all the museums, cathedrals and archaeological sites in other parts of Malta and Gozo as we had done.
It’s very historical with lovely glassware and silver jewellery in the quaint little shops.
It was a nice place to chill out after a hectic few days elsewhere on Malta.

A truly spectacular ancient small walled city.
A truly spectacular ancient small walled city.
The downside of this being the sheer number of tourists, however in the early morning or latter in the evening when they have left it has a serenity , it is wonderful then to just wander the ancient streets.
The hotel was very beautiful with a unique charm and a lot of attention to detail and very clean. The amenities like floor heating and decorations are superb. Breakfast was included and very tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner even helped us with booking very nice restaurants and gave us a lot of recommendations. The location is superb as it is in the middle of the old town. We would definitely recommend this restaurant especially for a romantic getaway.
Beautifully refurbished Palazzo in a quiet alley within the walls of Mdina. The owners and staff were friendly, hospital and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional, individually prepared for each guest by the chef. We enjoyed a dip in the heated sky pool on the roof terrace on warm days.
Great attention to detail to the interior design of the hotel and every aspect of our stay made it extremely comfortable. A gem of a hotel, highly recommended
Very spacious and very well equipped property. Loved the uniqueness of the layout and in the height of summer the pool area was an excellent facility to be able to enjoy. It felt like we were living in a part of Mdina's history.
As a base for visiting Malta, Mdina is ideally placed, with taxis and local buses easy to pick up from the main gate.
Peter and his staff couldn't be more helpful throughout the duration of our stay.
The location of the hotel is the main attraction as it is within the walls of the silent city of Mdina. The hotel is more of a chateaux with grand rooms. It is not a modern hotel, there are stairs. The rooms are like duplex suites and some have the bathroom facilities downstairs whereas sleeping is upstairs. The staff are all extremely polite and obliging. A home from home.
The owner greeted me at the door. The check in process was 5 star. You are welcomed in seated given a tasty local beverage while the owner explains the layout and history of the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is also 5 star the scallops were amazing the Amberjack was good. The room was great very comfortable bedding. The heated floors in the bathroom were great.
- Beautiful hotel
- Great location
- Nice, happy, smiling service upon welcoming
- Nice checkin
- The staff who eventually came to the room were, for the most part, nice, though often late. This is most likely due to poor management and poor communication than it is the staff (maintenance, housekeeping, etc).
The history that comes with this property. It is an unique hotel in an unique place! The staff, the care about guests and the fact that the hotel is so updated to our times and technology but in the same time all the fabulous features from back in history are kept and present there, to reminder where you are!
We loved staying behind the walls of the Mdina gate. Such a unique experience and location. The room was always clean, fresh water every time they cleaned the room, staff was great and the De Mondion restaurant was SO good. Definitely a special meal. The pool was so nice to come back to and relax.
Beautiful property in an excellent location in the heart of Mdina. Tastefully decorated in the style of an old palace. Large bedroom with a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and a large bathroom with shower and bath. The staff were charming and welcoming.
Lovely hotel with a perfect location in the old town, a wonderful onsite Trattoria (went there repeatedly), and most of all, a staff which were accommodating, extremely pleasant and polite, efficient and effective -- i.e., perfect. This was a truly wonderful stay
Lovely classic terrace property in a fabulous location just inside Mdina city walls. Property agents were friendly, professional and very responsive, provided prompt and clear arrival instructions. Clean and modern interior still retaining classic charm.
Mdina is an ancient citadel, to be located within the walls of the city is a true privilege. The hotel building itself is part of Mdina's cultural heritage; it is historical and retains all of its original features.
Wonderful hotel within the Mdina walls. Exceptional breakfast. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. My room had a separate sitting room and a terrace with a hot tub. Magical in the evenings.
Gorgeous former home with 6 large rooms, excellent breakfast, family run but 5 star! The staff was amazing! I urge you to stay here!!! Such a lovely experience in the center of Mdina.
Beautiful building in the heart of Mdina.
Evenings are truly magical and the staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly.
Rooftop terrace was beautiful for a drink or breakfast.
Beautiful palazzo in the silent city of Mdina. An ideal place for relaxation. Altough in winter we had a dip in the outside pool which was heated. Outstading service!
