I booked Urban Haven hotel online through Booking.com. Unfortunately, upon arriving in Lagos at night, I struggled to find the hotel, contrary to my expectations. The hotel name listed on Booking.com was nowhere to be found in the estate. After much stress and asking around, I finally located the place.
When I arrived, the owner was contacted, but she outrightly refused to honor the price I had booked online. When I asked why, she stated that Booking.com does not own the place and does not cover her expenses, such as diesel costs.
I had to leave at that late hour to search for another hotel. It was a miserable experience. I am not familiar with Lagos, and it was very late, making it a significant risk for me. I was highly disappointed with both Booking.com and the owner of the so-called Urban Haven.
This experience highlights a serious issue in the management between Booking.com and some hotel owners.
