The narrow and dramatic road to reach Nyksund prepares you to arrive further than the living world and ... surprise ! The site is far from Myre, obviously isolated, splendid but far from dead as you even find there a few occupied houses, gesthouses, two restaurants and some shopping offers, boats in the small harbour ... : a splendid land's end point where life is present to welcome you.
The room was really cozy and had the an amazing view over the sea and nearby fjord. We had access to a kitchen and spacious common area as well, and had everything that we needed - including a bathtub, which almost felt like a hot spring when the window was let open so the cold summer winds could enter. The staff was also very nice and let us store our luggage a few hours after checkout. The Holmvik Brygge restaurant, also run by the hotel, had a unique and Game of Thrones-ish atmosphere (in a good way).
the idea of sleeping in this very authentic boat (Keiko) and this special location in the village of Nyksund. Nyksund has a story of it’s own, from a desolated fishing-town to a lovely and at times vibrant small village in the northern part of island. It’s also close to the Queens ruta for those who like to hike.
Wonderfully shambolic accommodation full of bric-a-brac. Lovely looking restaurant and charming host.
Nyksund is quite a way from anywhere but well worth the detour to see. In March there was virtually nobody else there but I suspect it gets pretty busy in summer.
Would highly recommend.
We had the best time. Fantastic food in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Friendly staff. Cozy room with beautiful beautiful view towards the sea. Nyksund itself is a charming place with lots of hiking and fishing- possibilities.
We spent 10 days on the Lofoten and we had the best dinner there! Amazing breakfast and the bread is so yummi! The rooms are a bit small for the prize but you can easily manage it. It worth it to drive all the way to Nyksund.
Beautiful old fishing village, that is being restored. The hotel is a charming old house nicely restored by the owner. Owesome wild landscapes, mountain and see. The food is delicious. All in all a unique experience!
We appreciate the kindness of the guest and the chef, really dedicated and arranging. Amazing and delicious breakfast and the best stockfish we ate in Lofoten. We really recommend Nyksund Ekspedisjonen!
