The garden at Lizzy Wasi is a lovely greeting to the hotel. We were lucky to have a fireplace in our room, which the staff lit each night. The flowers just outside our room were a sweet welcome each time we left and entered our room. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful without being pushy.

We had a very relaxing stay- we had planned for one night, but extended it to two nights as we enjoyed the property so much
The rooms/cabins are very large/ Nice bathrooms and beds with patios
We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed all of them (I am vegetarian and liked all of my options/ my husband who is not vegetarian also equally enjoyed the meals)
They have a few activities each day, we enjoyed a short hike and learned about the local community, plants and birds
In the afternoon, they have a nice tea time with small snacks-
For planning- it takes 1.5 hours from the airport/ plan a ride in advance- it is about $50 for a couple from Cusco
The local area has a few popular tourist places to visit though we did not take advantage of these as we just enjoyed staying there
The Sacred Valley was an adjustment in altitude for us (we are from Nebraska) and it was nice to acclimate there, before staying in Cusco and ultimately hiking the Salkantay trail.

This Tierra Viva property is tucked away in a scenic and tranquil location about 15 minutes by road from Urubamba town. The views of the surrounding mountains and valley from practically anywhere on the property are spectacular, and the landscaping has been beautifully and naturally integrated. The rooms were typically elegant, spacious and comfortable like all Tierra Viva properties. The staff were absolutely wonderful - pleasant, kind, and attentive to all our needs and requests - and really made our stay exceptional. The in-house Suno restaurant had a wide variety of tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the staff were excellent.

The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is to drive straight from the airport to the Sacred Valley and stay there at least the first 3 days of your stay in Cusco. This is the best way to get your body used to such a high altitude and avoid getting sick. Urubamba has great restaurants and hotels all around, so there’s plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The weather is much warmer and nicer than Cusco and it’s a great hub for visiting the ruins around the place.

Urubamba is the perfect base from which to explore the Sacred Valley. It's also a quieter, less overtouristed alternative to Cuzco. Visitors can walk clear across town without being stopped by touts every few steps, but getting to Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras is a breeze (and cheap). The town also has plenty of great dining options, all for much less than you'd pay in Cuzco, and it's perfect for people watching. It may seem a bit rough around the edges at first but within a day you'll find it comfortable and even homey.

We had been there for work and looked for a peaceful place to spend the night, which we found. I know Urubamba, since I live in the Sacred Valley. Nice little town, where you find everything, you need for a short or long stay.

I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights.
I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights. Easy access to both Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It's a little less quaint than those other two tourist hot spots, but I preferred that Urubamba was a real city, with less domination from tourists. It is more centrally located than the other two, making it easier to get to them both. Really enjoyed my stay.
Absolute gem of a hotel! The staff were wonderful and couldn’t do enough to help you. The hotel is modern and the room was spacious and clean with a really modern and powerful shower. The breakfast on the top floor was one of the best we have had in Peru! White linen table cloths, fresh fruit, breads and eggs made upon request and served to you at your table- a million miles from the usual buffet service served by other hotels. Absolutely recommend, a short taxi from Urubamba, Moras and Moray- perfect base for Sacred Valley stay.
This is one of the most incredible parts of our Peru experience. I had no expectations going in, except to relax in nature. We were really happy with our cottage and nightly fires. The food is outstanding and served by very kind, happy staff. The highlight was birdwatching in the mornings and doing the nature walks with the guide. This hotel is located in an incredible nook inside the mountains that makes you feel wrapped in the Andes. It is truly a magical location. Additionally, our spa services were divine.
The staff was lovely ,very polite, helpful and super friendly. We had a bad experience with trains being delayed in ollantaytambo due to the political situation in Peru and the staff was so caring and protective of us . They also brought us a bag with food to take to the train to Macchu Picchu , so thoughtful . I was traveling with my 2 young adult children and their support made the trip much easier bearing in mind we arrived to urubamba during a political chaotic time in Peru
The place is amazing! Awesome laid-back atmosphere and great views, huge rooms with super comfortable beds and bathrooms, and the staff is INCREDIBLY sweet and helpful: we got to Peru during political unrest and they proactively proposed (!) us to stay an extra night for free with all meals included. Certainly great value for money, normally i would expect such hotels to be much more expensive
We've had a perfect stay. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. They even addressed us by name.
In the yard are two alpacas that walk around during the day.
The hotel offers comprehensive services, from transportation over a fast laundry.
Inside the compound is a restaurant with great food and a decent breakfast.
We came here twice and would definitely stay again.
Very unique and exciting experience views are spectacular. Climbing up is fun and zip lining down is super fun. Bathroom is ingenious. The food and guides are terrific information, kind, fun to talk to.it was a little loud from the strickers blasting horns early but that’s not the hotels fault. The beds are very comfortable and warm covers. Slept great
The room was better than I expected and the hotel territory was beautiful and peaceful. There are many animals and birds and fish living at the hotel so I spent one day just observing them from different spots. It was so nice that we decided to prolong our stay and skip our previous plan.
The room was very spacious, new and clean. We loved the parrot living near the kitchen. The hosts did their best to assist with whatever we needed and we used the option to book a tour with a discount with the agency that is managed by the owners which was very good.
Location was good, the hotel was very nice for a cheap hotel, the bedroom was a decent size, shower was a little slow to warm up, so turn it on when you first get in the bathroom to wash up and stuff, staff were helpful and always pleasant. Bed was very comfortable.
My favourite hotel of our trip. Lovely big room with a door straight out to the pool. Exceptional food and helpful friendly staff. As we left Abel told us about the humming bird garden - many thanks, it took some confidence to get there but Ensifera was brilliant.
Local hotel ran by the founding family. the staff is super kind and worries about the guest having a wonderful experience not only at the hotel but in Cuzco overall. great food and nice, clean spacious bedrooms.
Lots of activities planned within the hotel.
The location of the property is hidden away, very quiet. The view from the room was breathtaking and we enjoyed the breakfast at outside of the room overlooking the mountains and river! It was one of the best places we stayed in our trip in Peru.
Th most unique architecture. Absolutely beautiful with extremely nice staff. The food in the restaurant was amazing with the best breakfast we have had in all of Peru so far.
I loved the interior, the entire place looks like a spa. The hotel service was amazing, super friendly and accomodating. They have a restaurant onsite and it’s very tasty.
