Very comfortable private room with terrace and big bathroom. Room was warm and bright. Excellent hot shower. Room had armoire to hang clothes. Breakfast offered a variety of foods which were very tasty. Checkin was easy and the man was very genial! Arranged boat transfer for us to Spain to continue the Camino. It was great!

Caminha, a fortified border town located at the mouth of the river Minho, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain, now has much more friendly relations with its neighbor , it is a nice place to stay a few days to discover the area, unfortunately the ferry that connects the two banks of the river, is out of service.

I have been taking holidays in Caminha for over 30 years so it is one of my favourite spots. The town is small and everything is in walking distance, packed with enough restaurant choices to keep you satisfied and very well fed. Around it there's plenty interesting things to see and places to visit, also more restaurants with more excellent food to enjoy. The proximity with Spain is also a bonus.

Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition.
Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition. As a pilgrim, there were not so many places to stay, but I met some lovely people there. I loved walking along the river Minho, beautiful landscape, fascinating architecture. It's a quiet town that is located on the riverbank of Rio Minho and you can cross the river by ferry to Spain.

CAMINHA is a very attractive little town especially the old centre which has a lovely bustling square !
Many decent reasonably priced restaurants.
There are lovely clean beaches & super views across the River Minho to Spain !
Ideally located for walking on the beautiful unspoilt Serra da Arga or along the coastline.
Easy to nip across to Spain on the cheap ferry.
Good train service to other interesting places.
The location is perfect and the views across the river to Spain and the sunsets are amazing.
The breakfast had everything, it was delicious.
The hotel is nicely designed, it feels spacious, not fussy. The games room and the areas to work or have a glass of wine are really nice places to be.
And above all, the staff are super nice, friendly and helpful.
Plus we have a little dog who was given her own bed and food bowl for the room, plus the staff liked her.
Querk, a little older but nice atmosphere, plenty of bathrooms/showers.
The proprietor has spent a lot of time and effort to ensure everything for a pilgrim is catered for.
From herbs and spices and tea and coffee for a fully equipped kitchen to private spaces and areas to congregate.
Reminds me of the Hippy backpackers around Australia in the 1980's
Sensational location, nicely allocated bedrooms and spectacular views of the river mino. The house is light and spacious and the terrace is a fantastic spot for a barbecue and glad of wine at the end of a long day on the beach. Good restaurants nearby too and some great walking to be had. Thoroughly recommended and hopefully we will be back.
The location was perfect, right next to the river with the old water mill still running. The room was great and the bathroom was beautiful. Plenty of garden space to relax in The staff were super friendly and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Look forward to staying again in the future!
The apartment is beautiful, bright, spacious, and inviting! It is along the Camino route, a block from the water, and close to cafes, bars, and restaurants. The owners are warm, welcoming, very responsive, and kind! The bedrooms are beautiful and the dining / living room spacious and comfy.
During wintertime on the caminho the dorm room wasn’t fully booked, so I had a really good night sleep. It is one huge dorm room, with separated bunk beds with curtains. The staff was very friendly, Kitchen facilities are also good. Restaurants and Supermarkets are nearby :)
Well-preserved outdoor space, comfortable and spacious place, great breakfast and staff.
In terms of location, it is also super close to many lovely places to visit.
Outdoor and indoor swimming pools are also very good, especially for families with kids!
Absolutely recommended apartment in Caminha, very nice spot in the city center, few steps from the main square, two separated bedrooms with two bathrooms, nice kitchen and living room and wine prepared by the owner. Excellent.
Outstanding! The staff went above and beyond, the spa and sauna magnificent, restaurant delicious, room incredibly comfortable, and right off the Camino! The hotel is situated in a lovely square too.
Joanna and ?(sorry!) could not have been Werner and more welcoming, and helpful. The place is great. Spacious, right near the water taxi and the Caminha plaza. Fab location, clean and very inviting.
