The beautiful monastery, fortress and traditional village museum are definitely worth a visit. Suceava is the perfect starting point for visiting the stunning painted monasteries, several of which are just outside the town.

The important point about Suceava is as a centre for visiting the many attractions of the Bucovina, the surrounding area - in particular the painted monasteries; walking in the hills, woods and valleys; the handicrafts, the layout and architecture of the village houses; and the food of the region. But do not forget the Bucovina Village Museum and the Castle (Cetatea de Scaun) on the outskirts of Suceava itself.

Need Google translate for menus etc. Research beforehand worthwhile to choose excellent restaurants and coffee/cake places. Excellent hotel made the difference. Breakfast was excellent, with all kinds of foods and specialties, from chesses, ham, fish... One of the best hotels, I highly recommend.
